Hello all,

I'm going to start taking creatine for the first time and I've done my research, but there seems to be a few different opinions on what the loading and maintaining phases should be..

one article suggested there's no need for any loading phase and this website which seems to be on top of it offers the following as a typical cycle, which unless you guys suggest otherwise, I think I'll be doing :)

http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/creatine/loading-creatine-use.htm

week 1: loading phase 20g/day
week 2-4: maintenance phase 10g/day
week 5-8: no creatine

couple other questions I do have..
- how exactly do you take creatine, right before working out, all of it? or is it split to pre and post workout?
- do you take it only on the days you workout? if not when do you take it on your off days?

I plan on starting with creatine monohydrate

thanks in advance!

Loading is up to you. Most say it's unnecessary these days, though most bottles inform you to load either as a catch-all or maybe as a way to get you to buy more product. :)

My best results came from Beverly Creatine Select used during the workout. Just take it around the same time of day on the non-training days.

I cycle ALL supplements except protein and multis. I would cycle creatine, but I think you can go longer than 4 weeks. I've been on monohydrate for about 2 months now.

How many grams do you use? or would you suggest that I use.. (i don't know if my weight matters but I am between 155-160 lbs).. and as i said before this would be my first time on creatine

also.. do you get Beverly Creatine Select from BB.com or is there another site where it is cheaper?

any other people on creatine want to share their usage?

1-2tsp after you train and 1-2tsp on your off days is fine. Its fine to load but i don't usually bother with it.

Creatine is probably the cheapest supplement. The cheapest i use at any rate. :)

During maintenance phase, 5g per day is usually fine. If you're paranoid just do 1.5 scoops and get about 8g. :)

BB.com sells it, yes. Also check www.dpsnutrition.com (http://www.dpsnutrition.com), they're usually cheaper.

Keep your water intake high. I'd say at least 3 - 4L of water /day min.

I drink at least 1 gallon (usually 1.5) of water (sweetened with sugarless koolaid) :)

I expect that to be good.. If I don't keep my water intake high, I cramp up correct?

I might as well ask this.. but when you guys say your best results is when taking creatine WHILE you work out, how exactly do you pull this off?

do you mix it in a water bottle beforehand and then in between sets when you sip it down?.. do you make sure you finish it before ending your workout?.. just trying to get this down right

I appreciate all the help guys
