We bought the rubber floor tiles from Sam's Club today. Was only $78. :-)

Now I'm about to pull up the carpet and I'm wondering... Do I want to keep the carpet padding or lose it too? I'm thinking keep it for added padding to protect from dropped weights?

My gym is upstairs so I need to be a bit more careful than if it was downstairs with a concrete floor.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I left the padding in place and I'm glad that I did. :tu:

How about the tack strips around the baseboards?

Yep, big puzzle pieces. I've seen it in different places in the two Sam's clubs that I frequent. Both times they had it in black and in multi-colored. The multi colored stuff is for kids rooms and it is bright primary colors.

Both times it was also near the big "grease proof" rubber mats and the big rubber welcome mats that businesses sometimes use.

Total price for our 12' x 12' gym was $78.00!

Now I've got to figure out what to do with all the carpet I pulled up.

Left 'em, too.

I finished up with the installation and everything looks good. I ended up leaving the tack strips because they were the same height as the padding.

I'll try to post some pictures soon.

Thanks for all the help!
