So, I opened a new tub of whey protein today and I discover that they forgot to put a scoop in! So, now I need to figure out how much a serving is. If you take a regular table spoon how many will equal one scoop?

I would just see how much the serving size is (in grams), then weighted it on the food scale. Scoop it with the tablespoon and see how much it is.

Just remember that different tablespoons have little different sizes, so pick one and use only that one

It differs. A tablespoon is just under 15ml, which is a measure of volume. Although, if by a "regular tablespoon" you mean just a spoon, and not the unit of measure, then that will differ as well.

The packaging of the protein powder will list the number of grams in each scoop, so if you can find the density of the powder you can figure out many tablespoons there are

Yeah, unless you can figure that out ( ...) you'll need to weigh it.

Or, get a new scoop sent to you. Also, are you sure it's not there? They often become buried in the tub during shipping.

Have you stuck a big long spoon or other long items down through to the bottom of the tub to poke around for it?

My scoops measure out 1/4 cup.

I don't know if this question is still open, but the scoop in my latest tub of protein powder is 80 cc's. That is about 1/3 cup, 16 teaspoons, or 5.5 tablespoons. Hope this helps...
