It's a shot in the dark, but has anyone here tried Bumble Bee's Albacore Fillets? - They come in those nice, easy foil bags that you just rip open and eat out of. The only flavor I've tried is Lemon & Cracked Pepper, and it is AWESOME! Way better than regular tuna, and it's actually a whole piece of fish, not some kind of chopped up unpalatable mush.

The only thing I'm sketchy about is the nutritional information...the label CLAIMS that there's only 1g of fat in the pouch, but I'm not so sure. It seems like in the bag there is some kind of very, very light oil (the package says it contains soybean oil). I doubt that the package only has 1 gram, but then again, the experts who've tested the thing probably know better than me, right?

Has anyone tried these fillets, and can attest to their "cleanliness" on a cut? I figure that since almost everyone eats tuna, at least a few people would have tried these things...I wouldn't care so much if it was an ancillary food item, but this tuna is pretty much a protein staple for me...

I've bought one of those tuna packets (also bought one with salmon) but I haven't tried either of them yet. I tossed them in my drawer at work in case I need something to eat (and I don't have a can opener at my desk).

Is the serving size on the package one serving? I'd also be skeptical, as one of the main reasons tuna is so "healthy" is the fat content (especially the Omega 3's).

The mercury content, on the other hand, is a whole different issue. I eat chunk light tuna instead of solid white (albacore) because the mercury levels seem to be lower (from what I've read). And it's cheaper too.

I've had them. I like them alot, though they are alittle pricey. I think I had the ginger & soy fillets. The nutrition is comparable to a can of solid tuna, but it taste better. The fat probably is as stated, since it was undetectable. It is more like eating a real piece of fish, then the tuna in a can. I would recommend it.

How is the sodium content on them though?

The Ginger and Soy flavor is astronomically high in sodium, but the other flavors are pretty good. Although they're pricey, add some rice and some broccoli to one package and you've got yourself a meal. I've seen them at around $3.00 here in NYC.
