Hey guys!

I've seen this sight on and off for the last year or two. Never was all that interested because all I've ever cared about was gaining weight (being an ecto), however I am at the point where for the first time I need to cut.

A little background on me:
23 yrs old
6'2"
205lbs
~17%

I'm one of those who have been lifting on and off the last few years. Took about a year off (Jan '05-'06) because I tore my left shoulder labrum (lift-off on military press). I am better for the most part however the shoulder will never really be the same, said 2 different orthopedics. That actually sucks because my shoulders were always my strong point.

I have always been tall and skinny, and love and hate being finally over 200 lbs. I am at the point where my arms, chest, legs etc...are all as lean as can be but my stomach is an oddity. If you looked at me you'd probably think I was a size 34" when in actuality I am closer to 38.5".

That really makes no sense to me. I eat clean, lift hard, do cardio. Why is my stomach the only part not lean?

Typical days diet: ~3k cals over 5-6 meals w/ a 270p 270c 90f

Typical foods:
Lean sirloin steak
Chicken breast
Lean ground beef (93/7)
1/4 gallon skim milk
ON 100% whey
2 scoops MM
Cashews
banana
orange
long grain brown rice
oats
salad/broccoli
.75-1gallon water

Lift 3 days/week with 10-12mins cardio on elliptical @ 75% HR after workout
Play tennis 2 days a week

I understand why I haven't gained too much muscle recently but I seriously cannot figure out why the stomach hasn't gotten any smaller.

I'm about to start this cut:
- a carb cut-off @ ~6pm/meal 5
- 2210 cals a day (BMR=3290, 17%=34lbs fat [31 * 34lbs fat=1080 calorie deficit] yields 2.167lbs of fat lost per week initially.
- 205p 237c 50f (37/43/20)
-lift 3-4 days, play tennis 2 days (when I play, I play intense for ~2hrs)
-Cut out milk to maybe 1 serving per day.

The plan is to get down to 190lbs and re-evaluate situation.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Chris

Are you sure about your BMR calculation? BMR = basal....lying down comatose, feeding through an IV....if you get my drift. Forget BMR. How many cals does it roughly take to maintain your weight now?

I used the term BMR loosely. BMR is 2123, and then I factored in an activity level of 1.55 for a total of 3291 to keep my weight. So yeah I'm pretty sure :)

Everything else look in order?

I'm really hoping one of the culprits was all the milk I was drinking. Hopefully cutting that out along with its sugar will help.
