ive been trying to nicely and easily help you to try and consider working out...fitness... for her health. shes not overwieght at all... very slim... but like some/or most women she complains about fat in her gut region and thighs etc. i will be honest she has gained wieght... but she is still very slim... she has a skiny gal frame.. i think shes a ecthomorph. you get the point. when she says shes fat... i tell her "your doing a bad job at getting fat"... precede to tell her that i could do a better job at it. lol

anyways... heres the deal... recently she has decided to start working out with me... and im helping her. im doing what i can... but honestly im no fitness person... i barely know whats good for me.... much less someone else... who is female.

so im doing what i can.

ive mentioned to her that just trying to do something will help out...will take out of the homostasis-equlibrium state.

so im having her do some very basic wieght lifting excersizes... 3 of them a day... 2 to 3 days a week... and then after i have her go out and do some moderate jogging and fast walking.... im having her try to hit at least 10 minutes non stop around the track.
first day she couldnt do it... so i said that was fine... next time she did it. shes smokes... so its hard for her.
but she seems to be getting better. next time ill have her try and shoot for 15 minutes.

as for the lifting... im having her do...

(all for the cardio effect)
flat bench
deads
squats
bicep curls
military press
tricep ext.
situps

very basic.

if you have any advice please let me know.

You got a gal!!! :jumping: :jumping: :)

I've been getting into the routines in this book as I am starting to recover from my abdominal surgery. It seems to have great starter routines for women who have never worked out and to build them up over time into regular fitness buffs. I can't speak from experience yet 'cause I am just starting... but others here on JSF think it's good.... It's a total body approach which I am really high on right now..

I personally don't like the food plan but that is just my taste. I prefer higher protein and fat and lower carbs than they do. Plus I find their calories a little too restrictive. But their workout routines look good, particularly for starters. Good pictures, good instruction.

Try this. Instead of lifting "for the cardio effect," have her use weightlifting for building and maintaining muscle. Have her diet and cardio routine designed for fat loss.

She can do whatever you do in the gym if you'd like. My girlfriend and I use the exact same split, same exercises, same rest periods, etc. The only difference is the weight used. :)
