View Full Version : 2 Years of hard work and 92lbs (42kg) later...
BlackBeauty January 27th, 2004, 02:06 AM Hi everyone,
This is my first post here... :claphigh:
Someone gave me the link to John Stone's main page after I posted some of my before and after photos recently on a couple forums.
I have lost 42kg (92lbs) over the last 2 years and gone from a fat, obese person who never did exercise to an athletic kickoxer who know trains 5-6 days a week in Muay Thai.
Here's a few before photos - these are the ones I usually carry around with me for those disbelieving ppl I meet:
December 2000 (http://members.optushome.com.au/anthlil/BB/images/NovDec2000.jpg)
March/April 2001 (http://members.optushome.com.au/anthlil/BB/images/MarApr2001.jpg)

March 2002 (http://members.optushome.com.au/anthlil/BB/images/March2002.jpg)
And here's me now, again in pink (42kg (92lbs) less and 2 years later):
End of 2003 (http://au.f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/vogue_forum/detail?.dir=/Vogue+Girls!&.dnm=BlackBeauty+October+2003.jpg)
I also have a website which you can view at http://come.to/BlackBeauty but
am yet to put up a specific weight-loss-and-how-I-did-it page. I'm also sick of the amount of emails and forum PM's I get asking how to lose weight or get fit so I'll fix that soon by putting up a FAQ of some sort!!
Cheers,
BB.

BB.
Hey BB. Way to go. I wish I could get my wife to do the same. I myself lost 110 lbs in 2 years. I know all the hard work you webt thorugh. But doesn't it feel good, when people that have not seen you for a while could not really recognize you? I know I felt good. ANd how nice is to look at your old cloth now? Keep up the good work. I am sure you will never put on an extra lb. People like us know what it takes to lose weight.
darkeblue January 30th, 2004, 10:42 AM hey BB, if you weren't in Australia, I would ask you out! :o
Keep up the good work, you are truly inspiring!
Poetik Proze January 31st, 2004, 03:42 PM :spaz: Wow. Very, very nice looking. Dayum.
BlackBeauty February 4th, 2004, 12:58 AM Thankyou everyone for your positive comments :)
Oh, and congrats on your massive weight loss too, d_samuylin!!
Bobby Lee February 4th, 2004, 11:55 AM This is the stuff I need to get motivated. Congratulations! This is what makes it all worth while besides getting heart healthy. We need to feel better about ourselves. Fabulous job!
d_samuylin February 4th, 2004, 12:12 PM Thankyou everyone for your positive comments :)
Oh, and congrats on your massive weight loss too, d_samuylin!!
Thanks BB. I will update my photos this weekend (February 7th or 8th). There will be more to see in terms of the difference. I am currently @ 185lbs,a s opposed to 300lbs 2 years ago. My goal is 155 lbs by June 1. Only 30lbs to go, can't wait to see my 6 pack.
On the other hand, doesn't it weel better being achieving what we've achieved? Not a lot of people can say that they lost 100 and over lbs.
Tiger King February 4th, 2004, 01:35 PM An excellent transformation, but what really caught my eye is how you train in Muay Thai. No wonder you lost so fast!
I do as well (if it isn't obvious from my name/sig to you by now) and I would love to talk to someone about it. Not to many people around here are familiar with muay thai, and I would like to talk/exchange info about training or any tips/routines you have.
Anyhow, nice to meet another thai boxer, and big thumbs up on the weight loss!
Jono February 4th, 2004, 01:45 PM awsome transformation!
tiger, i also train'ed' mui thai.. i will pick it back up in a few months..
im more of a brazy jiu jitsu guy, no replacement :D
BlackBeauty February 4th, 2004, 08:29 PM Yeah, BJJ has it's merits too :)
Hiya Tiger King - I wasn't always doing Muay Thai - only started that a year ago, so for the first year and a bit, I did nothing but walking/jogging, yoga, stationary bike, weight-training, aerobics videos and the odd aerobics classes at my university gym.
Tiger King February 4th, 2004, 09:08 PM How are you finding it so far? I saw the article/picture you linked on your site, is the training very good? Just that I find that a lot of arts can be really watered down over in north america (someone once asked me if muay thai was like tae bo... HAHA)
What kind of drills/conditioning/etc do you do on an average night?
Have you fought yet by the way?
Skipernicus February 6th, 2004, 03:33 PM You have really achieved.
You've gone from "cute girl" to "knockout girl".:spaz:
Way to go!
FionaMaeve February 8th, 2004, 01:13 AM Wow, BlackBeauty--you look fantastic! Way to go! :tu:
BlackBeauty February 19th, 2004, 06:21 AM lol@Skipernicus and thanks Freemason :)
@Tiger King: Hope you got my reply to your PM. Also in answer to your questions here, I find the training excellent. Muay Thai training is not at all like the training of other forms of MA such as Karate or Taekwondo. We do a LOT of cardio work, intense body conditioning as well as weight-training and weighted shadow-boxing and shadow-kicking as a minimum in very 2 hour training session. That doesn't mean we neglect technique as we do a lot of bag work using punching bags, floor to ceiling bags, speed balls, medicine balls, kickpads, focus mitts, arm pads - the whole arsenal!
At the end of every class, we finish with 2-3 rounds of sparring with out classmates. We do not training non-contact like some other MAs. We train light to as-much-as-you-can-take-contact. I train with both females and males, some of which are semi-professional fighters.
So far, I have had 3 light-contact fights but have not been able to use my full range of 'weapons' ie., knees, elbows, leg sweeps etc as the competitions I enter are mixed martial arts and have different rules.
HTH! :)
Duckman February 19th, 2004, 06:31 AM Very impressive :claplow:
cutenfit12 February 19th, 2004, 11:56 AM you did an awesome job!!that is so great! that really motivates me to get back into the groove of things, i have gone from a size 13 to a size 11 to a size 5 and then went to a 7... but i kinda over induldged during the holidays
Brian February 19th, 2004, 10:28 PM Wow, BB, what an awesome transformation! You must feel better about yourself a thousand fold. I've lost 80 lbs. myself (went from 274 down to 194, but gained 15 lbs. over the holidays). If you'd like to check out my photos, they're in a thread about half way down this forum's first page. I'm planning on being at 165-170 by the middle of June (JUST in time for summer!) this year.
Congratulations and keep up the awesome work. It may be hard in the beginning, but in the end, it's all worth it. :tucool:
Tucker February 19th, 2004, 11:03 PM so, um you like tall guys???

taffer February 20th, 2004, 02:30 AM nice too see someone from melb getting great results, i think my friend goes to your school, i'll tell him to watch out for you :P
BlackBeauty February 24th, 2004, 07:45 AM Thanks DefJef - actually, my fiance is almost 6'1" and plays 'ball too :)
Hiya taffer - where in Australia are you from? And what school does your friend go to?
Thanks Brian and cutenfit12 - u've both done a great job so far, keep up the great work and keep us updated at the forums as well!
Actually, have hit a slight snag - been resting after a recent unrelated operation but yesterday badly hurt my knee doing sprints and currently off from work and awaiting x-rays. Also may be getting a lateral release done shortly to surgically help/fix the problem....
Biggest challenge will be keeping the weight off over the next few weeks until I return to kickboxing and during the entire time of the surgery if i decide to go ahead with it....
taffer March 4th, 2004, 12:47 AM Hiya taffer - where in Australia are you from? And what school does your friend go to?

I'm in Melbourne too and actuall used to study and now work at Swinburne Uni. I'm at the Hawthorn campus where yes, both the university and tafe campuses are together. Then again, this also happens at Croydon or Lilydale too I think....
