Anyone ever done any biking here? http://www.kingdomtrails.org/

I'm going up for a weekend with some friends. we went last yeat but rained out, so we ended up on Montreal. As fun as that was (;)) I'm hoping to get some riding in this time!

Also, for any mountain bikers out there - I'm a newbie - what's a good way to train if I don't have easy access to trails, aside from weekends? I have lots of hills around my house and I've been riding on the road with my MTB, trying to blast on the hills. Does this kind of training translate well to trails? I feel my endurance and general fitness is good but I haven't really tested myself on actual singletrack.

If you still look like your avatar pic and you've been keeping that up, as well as blasting up hills - you'll do much better than the friends you're going with.
Also - try to find the longest, steapest hill you can find and time yourself going up it.
Keep trying to beat that time, and keep going back down, and then back up again. (HIIT)

Anyway, Looks like fun.
I've been looking at those pictures for the past 5 minutes and i might buy a mountain bike now.
Maybe just a walmart one though.
Then i'll need to find active friends.

You've inspired me.

Haha. thanks. I got lucky with the light in that particular shot, but I am actually in slightly better shape now (6 pounds heavier, same bf).

The mountain biking is was really fun. I love being outdoors, especially in September/October. I can't wait for this trip.

For a bike, I'd say get the cheapest "good name" bike you can find. Specialized, Gary Fischer, Trek, Fugi... You should be able to get into a low end bike for < $1000. I know it sounds like a lot but youll have that bioke for a long time. The wal-mart jobs will bust after 2 rides.
