I have been doing a 4-5 day split for the past 2 years:
Chest
Back
Legs
Shoulder
Bi/Tri

I am going on vacation and do not want to work out everyday. So, I was hoping to do a total-body routine every other day. I have never done this and after having read through some of the threads as well as t-nation stuff, I have decided to do the following:
Workout A
Squat 4 sets 8-12
Pull-up 4 sets 8-12
Romanian Deadlift 4 sets 8-12
Flat BB Bench 4 sets 8-12
Standing BB Shoulder Press 4 sets 8-12
Dips 4 sets 8-12 (both with and without weights)
Standing BB Curl 3 sets 8-12

Workout B
Deadlift 4 sets 8-12
Bent-over BB Row 4 sets 8-12
DB Lunge 3-4 sets 10
Incline BB or DB Bench 4 sets 8-12
Seated Arnold Shoulder Press 4 sets 8-12
Close-grip Bench 4 sets 8-12
Seated preacher curl 3 sets 8-12

I will be alternating workout A & B every other day:
Workout A
Rest
Workout B
Rest
Workout A
etc

Any suggestions? My goal is to maintain LBM/strength while continuing to shed some fat. I am 5 ft 9inches and 168 pounds. I will also be runniing on non-liftinig days 3-8 miles.

Thanks a lot.

I like it. But my only suggestion would be to eat at maintenance, possibly eating even a little higher than maintenance. You are doing a good amount of volume and with only one rest day, you will be working pretty hard and will need the extra calories to aid recovery. I don't think it will hinder a slow fat loss program because you will be working so hard in the gym that you will deserve those extra cals.

Also, the double chest on both days (A=bench/dips, B=incline/close grip) might be an issue after a few weeks, since that bodypart will be getting a lot of work (although it looks like you wanted to use a compound exercise for tricep work). I would say switch up the last two exercises of each day every few weeks TBT-style for variety and to limit the possibility of overtraining a specific muscle group.

Thanks for the advice. I think switching up the last 2 exercises is a great idea. As far as triceps work goes, I found compound exercises to provide more stimulation to my tris rather than doing cable or dumbell exercises. You're right though that the double-chest work may take its toll. I think I may switch the tris at times to more isolation type moves. Thanks.
