ChrisAndNat Fri, July 28th, 2006, 09:54 AM I dont know if these two places are fast but I think these two items ROCK.

2. Boston Market which chicken breast.
Anyone else have a set of favorites?

ChrisAndNat Fri, July 28th, 2006, 04:32 PM Yikes, I was thinking "good" food for cutting.
tedpod Sat, July 29th, 2006, 01:26 AM Holy shit papa gino's....i havent heard that one in a hot minute...i used to live off that crap..D'angelos too
fast food i dont trust....if im in a pinch i stop at any store and get tuna pouches and almonds...its pretty fast..!!..and i dont have to worry about disgruntal teenagers sticking body parts in my food...(trust me..this happens)
Ziegenbak Mon, July 31st, 2006, 04:24 AM Taco Cabana is great. The tortillas, rice, and manditory Dos Equis are not exactly the cleanest foods, but I just can't imagine a better place to be on a slightly guilty refeeding day:spank:
I like to sit on the patio amongst the palm trees, lime in beer in hand, and pretend the inter-state is the ocean while listening to some Sublime on my mp3 player.
sleeper Mon, July 31st, 2006, 05:56 AM I'm always going to Taco Del Mar. Its great i usually get 2 tacos and rice and beans. Works out to about 800cal 45g protein / 25g fat ... totally worth it.
I also don't shy away from subway, pita/wrap restaurants,...and... mmmmm.... well lately i haven't been shying away from much :lol: , but those would be my more healthy choices.

DLiquid Mon, July 31st, 2006, 04:47 PM I'm always trying to find Mexican food places that have whole wheat tortillas and brown rice. The one I go to now has the tortillas but they use white rice. A bean/rice burrito there is still a pretty clean meal, and tasty. Not sure how much sodium is in there though, probably a lot.
Whole Foods deli makes an even cleaner veggie burrito. I just tell them to leave out the sour cream and anything else not on my good list.
I used to eat at Taco Bell, Togos, Quiznos, and Subway a lot, but I have cut that out completely over the past few months.
guava Sat, August 5th, 2006, 07:50 PM My favorite "fast" food is a peanut butter sandwich. Can't get much faster than that, if you plan ahead.
I'm on vacation right now, and I've been packing a couple every morning to eat as snacks between meals or as a meal with apples, bananas, or carrot sticks.
timwalsh300 Sat, August 5th, 2006, 11:16 PM From Wendy's, I eat the chili or the Ultimate Chicken Grill sandwich with no mayo (just chicken, lettuce, and tomato on a bun). The bun is probably not a good choice, but at least I'm not mixing carbs and fats (I'm a big believer in John Berardi's principles). And, what the hell, I'm bulking and it's a really quick way to get some protein.
I love Boston Market... 1/2 a rotisserie chicken with 2 sides of green beans or mixed vegetables.
Does Subway really count as fast food? I very often eat their oven roasted chicken breast on a wheat roll, some non-fat honey mustard, and lots of vegetables. The turkey breast is great too.
Here's a tough one... is there anywhere except for my kitchen where I can get a decent breakfast?
Oh, and I'll agree with Guava, at least in part. I always carry around a jar of all-natural peanut butter and a spoon with me. It's a good way to get some calories from fats throughout my day. I wouldn't, however, put it on bread (the carbs and fats thing, again).

mastover Sun, August 6th, 2006, 05:22 AM sweet potato and a chicken breast.
2 scoops protein powder in a shaker cup, add water (relatively easy to find), 1 oz walnuts or almonds.
:tucool:
DLiquid Mon, August 7th, 2006, 02:30 PM Does Subway really count as fast food?Why wouldn't it?
M@ Mon, August 7th, 2006, 02:49 PM sweet potato and a chicken breast.
2 scoops protein powder in a shaker cup, add water (relatively easy to find), 1 oz walnuts or almonds.
:nope: I don't wanna look bulky.
Human Clay Tue, August 8th, 2006, 02:38 AM In a pinch, I go to Subway and get a 6" oven roasted chicken, turkey, ham, or turkey + ham sub on wheat (I know, not much better than white), toasted to enhance the flavour (caramelization of the sugars in the bread), loaded with all of the standard veggies except for hot peppers, some mustard, a bit of salt and pepper. All of them are between 280 and 300 calories and low in fat.
Yes, it's high in sodium, but I'm not too worried about sodium, as I sweat out quite a bit.
Timbermiko Wed, August 9th, 2006, 10:45 AM I'm gonna stop eating these...but in a bind,
Arby's Market fresh turkey sandwich...no mayo, no swiss.

Great Dane Sun, June 8th, 2008, 04:49 PM Chicken Taco al Carbon
Flame-grilled chicken, onions and cilantro in corn tortillas.
Calories: (150), Cholesterol: (40mg)
Fat: (5 g), Sodium: (290 mg)
Protein: 11 g, Carbohydrate: 17 g, Fiber: 1 g
I get these at El Pollo Loco. I order four of them. They are incredibly filling with a medium diet soda and are only a dollar a piece. And if you're cutting and worried about the carbs from four of these things, they actually all come with two small corn tortillas. So all you have to do it just not eat one of the corn tortillas. It will practically cut the carbs in half and take off a gram or two of fat per taco. Plus you can load it full of onions and cilantro or salsa at their salsa counters. Onions are always great to eat more of. Pack it on!
Actually, I think El Pollo Loco in general is a wonderful place to eat clean on the go. They now have skinless chicken breasts you can order, they have steamed veggies with no butter, and you can order a side of pinto beans for a nice fiber boost.
I just always look for places with a nice mix of proteins and carbs. I run really bad on fats. A low fat diet is what works for me, whether I'm bulking or cutting.
Chipotle's Burrito Bowls are a good option for people bulking. Very quality ingredients and they only use healthy fats in their cooking. I order it with Rice, Black Beans, Chicken, Mild Salsa, and Lettuce. Because of the mix of healthy fats from the rice and the thick salsa, there is no need to get any kind of dressing. Also, you can always take out the rice and drop another 30grams of carbs.
These two options never leave me feeling groggy the next day and never puff me up like other fast food does.
Just drink your water and stay active and sodium isn't going to slow you down. Sodium actually helps your body absorb nutrients anyways.
Brian Golden Sun, June 8th, 2008, 05:39 PM Make smart choices with condiments and only eat out once or twice a week.
For me, currently McD (McChicken's with no mayo), Moe's (Steak burrito with rice and beans), Quiznos (roast beef toasted subs), Chick-Fil-A (#1).
Aleister bates Sat, June 14th, 2008, 05:56 PM As of late i just grab a taco salad and a bottle of water.
brooklyncook Thu, June 19th, 2008, 02:27 PM The Wendy's Mandarin Chicken Salad is pretty good, even if you 86 the dressing and eat it "dry." (I say 'dry' since the lettuce is a little wet from being washed -- thank god -- and there's still mandarin orange pieces in there.)
It's pretty good. Not the ultimate in clean eating/fast food, but it'll do in a pinch, and you don't feel guilty...like when you eat the Baconator.
kevin_in_ga Thu, June 19th, 2008, 03:58 PM McDonald's (yes, McDonald's!) Asian TenderGrille salad. Other than the occasional Subway turkey sub, this is the only commercial fast food I'll eat.
Calories = 300
Fat = 10 g
Carbs = 23 g
Protein = 32 g
These numbers include the salad dressing.
