Nope.
In my opinion, you want less carbs and more protein in your PWO shake.
P3T3R Sun, July 23rd, 2006, 10:48 PM So would Mucle Milk or somthing like that would be better for my diet????
BreakingPoint Sun, July 23rd, 2006, 11:24 PM Why do you feel you need a supplement..?
P3T3R Mon, July 24th, 2006, 12:50 AM I just feel that I need somthing to help my diet out. Im just very busy with school and work, and somehow I still manage to go to the gym everyday but I know im not putting in the best food in my body because of the cituation thats ahead of me.
Kino Mon, July 24th, 2006, 06:34 AM Endurox is one of the better supplements out there. You'll get it alot cheaper at DPS (http://www.dpsnutrition.net/item.asp?n=ED005) if you don't mind internet purchases.

Mind if I ask what you base that on?

The fact that I've used the stuff extensively myself in the past, my understanding of performance nutrition, and additional feedback from a Bio Med PhD candidate/pro bodybuilder who's name gets thrown around in here once and a while...Layne Norton.

That's all well and good, but you didn't really answer my question.
What about it makes it superior to another product? I'm not asking to be difficult, I'm genuinely curious.
When I look at the ingredients, I see a whole bunch of sugar (dextrose, fructose, sucrose) which can easily be had from other sources in bulk. I see magnesium carbonate, the least bioavailable form of magnesium. It's got some potassium, and glutamine....and that's it, unless you want to get into ascorbic and citric acid, sodium chorlide, and yellow dye.
Why is this product superior to just adding glutamine and dex/maltodex to your PWO shake?

OK...Let's first get my original statement clear. "Endurox is one of the better supplements out there" When I say "better" I'm meaning one of the better thought out products that have come the pike. If you want to look at it from a bodybuilding stand point, or verses what we could mix up in a shaker on our own, there's really not a product out there that I would say "use this and you're all set."
I've used Endurox during my days of cross country mountain biking as well open water kayaking and have found my endurance and recovery to benefit from it. That being said...I've also found my endurance to benefit from mixing a 2:1 combination of water/orange juice with a 1/4 tsp of salt and drinking that during activity...so of course there are plenty of home brewed mixes that anybody can benefit from.
Some people don't want to mix stuff up...they just want to scoop it into their water bottle and go. It drives me crazy, because I know that you can mix up something better for less money...but that's what they (I) want sometimes. So if you want something like that then Endurox is one of the better thought out products to fit the bill. But then it could realistically be looked at like comparing Gatorade to my water/orange juice/salt mix. They both work, but there's alot of people who buy Gatorade.
I'm not going to go back and forth with you like I've seen in some other threads you've posted in. If you want to read more about Pacific Health's product, you can do so here (http://69.94.64.50/enduroxr4.com/index_ntscp.html).

That's fair. I think it's important to be very clear when discussing supplements, because you and I both know this market is riddled with snake-oil.

Yeah, I don't blame you, I have a horrible habit of forcing people to explain themselves and sometimes they end up revealing that the podium they placed themselves on is made of sand.
This isn't aimed at you, but the truest hallmark of a fraud is fear of debate.

Why must people be forced to explain themselves? It worked for Kino and he suggested it from his own experience, I don't see what else there is to say.

Have you tried looking at AtLarge's products? They have a few that might be what you're looking for. Otherwise, if you've got time to chug down muscle milk, etc., then I don't see why you can't mix up something yourself, it'll save you $$ and be better for you nutritionally. Are you looking for convenience?

That's just my point.
He didn't say "It worked great for me when I was doing cross country mountain biking as well open water kayaking and have found my endurance and recovery to benefit from it." He said something similar to that when I asked him to explain, but what he originally said that I objected to was:
Endurox is one of the better supplements out there.
He must explain himself because "better" means absolutely nothing. This kid is looking for a PWO drink (I assume) while trying to cut, and he's suggesting a product with 50+ grams of sugar?
It sounds like it's great when you're doing activities that go beyond traditional cardio, and you need to replenish a significant amont of glycogen and other nutrients.
However, if this kid is just going to the gym and doing an hour of elliptical and some lifting every day, this product is not what he's looking for. He's looking for something with 2 to 3x as much protein and 1/4th to 1/3rd of the sugar, IMHO.
No biggy. I just have a lot of skepticism when it comes to supplements and people claiming that one is better than the other, especially when the context of use is very unclear.
cabster21 Mon, July 24th, 2006, 06:55 PM Regardless of the quality of product, we have seen Kino has had good experiences with it, I don't think I would be a must have for you. Is it energy you're looking for? Like said, I would be looking more towards getting some good quality protein.
dano Tue, July 25th, 2006, 11:10 AM Unless your cardio training takes up 1.5-2 hours of your time and is more than just aerobic exercise it you probably don't need it.
Endurox is one of the better recovery drinks out there. Accelerade is also pretty good. The original Cytomax was good when it first came out years ago. There have been others that have come and gone.
I've used each. IMO opinion they are unneccessary unless you are supplementing/recovering from some type of high endurance racing.
1FastGTX Tue, July 25th, 2006, 04:03 PM He must explain himself.
However, if this kid is just going to the gym and doing an hour of elliptical and some lifting every day, this product is not what he's looking for.
Gotta admit, that's a decent point. :)
