I just ordered Higher Power Micronized Creatine from bodybuilding.com
and am a little confused on how i should take it, everything i read contradicts somthing else. I am 5'9 and currently weight 186, probably somewhere between 15-20% bodyfat. My goal is to focus on weight loss untill i hit 10%-12% then start bulking. I currently lift 3 times a week and do cardio on all my off days. I follow a 2150 cal diet with a 40/40/20 split. I also have been eating pretty much the same exact foods everyday, is that healthy? Well here is the nutrition facts of higher power micronized creatine.

Serving Size: 5g (1 heaping teaspoon)
Servings Per Container: 100

Amounts Per Serving
Creatine Monohydrate 5000mg

Directions:
Add one heaping teaspoonful daily to cold water or your favorite beverage. Be sure to consume a ample amount of water while taking this supplement

Also can i just add this supplement to my post workout shake that consists of skim milk, flax oil, On Whey Protien and a bannana all blended. I hear there are certain things you can't mix creatine with.

Also if i have to take this multiple times, when is the ideal time to take it.

Any help would be appriciated

I personally don't recommend creatine for cuts.:nono:

You can take it about any time, suggest 2 hours before and after workout. But you only need 5 gms a day.

It is not normally a good mixer. try it in many things but water will do. 5gms is one heaping teaspoon. :bb:

1. Don't put anything into your body if you don't know what it does (or what it can't be mixed with).

2. Follow the instructions on the jug.

3. Eating the same healthy foods everday is healthy. Eating pop tarts, pizza and moutain dew every day is not healthy.

4. Drop the Flax Oil PWO1. PWO Shakes are ideally to contain protein and carbs only. The fat in the flax seed oil only slows down the absorption of the shake -- and you don't want that PWO.

What's PWO?

Should someone who isn't putting creatine in their protein shake still stray from putting flax seed/fats in their shakes?

Why?

My personal feeling is that it's even more ideal during cuts since you are generally nutritionally challenged as it is.

Also a good way to take creatine is 1/2 tsp with Pre-workout nutrition and 1/2 tsp with postworkout drink.

Why? The only rason I can think or is for aesthetic reasons. It does not hinder fat loss. If anything it helps it, albeit to a small degree.

I get bloated on creatine. And I always gain about 5 lbs the first week. Only cycled twice so far but both times that happened to me.

That's due to water retention, not fat retention.

Don't follow the directions on the container. Take 5g daily, preferably with your post-workout shake (protein/fast acting carbs). On off days, mix in green tea or any other drink.

 I'm confused about why you bought it if you don't know how and when to take it. What are you hoping it will do for you?

Not quite. It wouldn't be healthy for me to eat only chicken breasts and broccoli every day. You should reach for a balance of all available nutritients in your diet. That means a small serving of nuts five times a week, a serving of fish two or three times a week, dairy products or other sources of calcium daily, citrus fruits, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, berries, and cruciferous vegetables as often as possible.

well I did do some research but I was thrown off by the instructions on the actual supplement, the instructions on bodybuilding.com included a loading phase. I have read about the pros and cons of each, and it really all seems to just depend on who you ask. Both have been recommended in the past on this forum. I started looking into creatine because 1FastGTX said in prior posts he thought it was useful during a cut. Then i read about taking it with simple carbs (I know that any positive effects would be outweighed by the calories on a cut). Some places said it wasnt good to take with milk for whatever reason. The list seems to go on and on about do's and don't. I just wanted to see what has worked for the forum before i started a cycle. So I will just follow the instructions and take it with water after my workouts.

Appreciate the help

gordo ill take the flak oil out of the PWO Shake thanks
