I just received an e-mail from Honeyville stating that for the next 3 days there will be a discount of 10% on all milk and egg products. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried powdered egg whites and how they were because a $14 container of egg white powder is equivalent to 309 "large fresh egg whites." This would save me a fortune on eggs because I purchase 3 dozen a week and only use 2 yolks whenever I make eggs.

Hi there,
I bought some egg white powders a while back and have yet to find a decent use for them. Firstly they stink to high heaven and just opening the container they are stored in is enough to make me vomit. Its not that they smell off or anything, they just stink. I cant really describe the smell. Smells like chickens I think (???). Secondly I never received any mixing instructions so I am not sure how to use them. I tried mixing with a bit of water and frying them but they turned into inedible rubber almost instantly. They are pure egg whites cos I bought them at an all natural health shop.
I know this doesn't help you much but I hope there are some good replies to this thread cos I would also like to know.
