6.5 lbs lost in just my first week of cutting after so many months of struggling with my weight management, I finally got my act together and have been SO much more into it than ever before.

It's been one of the toughest and most enduring weeks so far. I'm sure some of that is water weight but I really exerted myself probably too much. I now have some kind of pain in the kneecap of my right-leg which hurts when I stand up. I also had a wrist sprain and ankle sprain, but a little bit of physical therapy, manning-up, and you can accomplish things!

My fitness program is the exact same as John Stone's, except I only do eliptical, no stair climber or anything. Plus, later in the day I also practice socccer or play.

I decided not to weigh myself in until one week has passed. I was so nervous waking up today thinking that my weight would be the same. I feel so much better now, and well, special thanks to you guys at JSF forums and John Stone's cutting phase program. =p

Soon enough I'll be hitting the 2lbs/week I'm sure, or more, cause of my weight.

Quickie Stats:
Before: 263.5lbs
Now: 257
Age: 19
Height: 6"0
BF %: n/a
Desired Weight: Approx. 180

Awesome man, good job on a week well done! Ya the first few weeks are the "fun times" when you just see the scale dropping pretty quickly. Every workout I did my first 2 weeks I struggled, but thinking "Dude, this is the EASY part of my cutting program" really helped me thru them.

We seem to have similar stats, I was 6'3" 263 lbs when I started, as of today I'm 242.6. Even though I see it's not recommended all over the place, I weigh myself every day, just to quench the curiosity. So far I'm averaging about 5 lbs a week loss, I'm on track to get up to 6 this week though.

Anyway, keep on trucking man. I see your goal is 180ish, right now mine is to get to about 205 by Thanksgiving (to shut my uncle up that tells me I'm fat at every family function) I'll definatly be keeping track of your progress!

First congrats on your first steps :)

When you get to about 220....do not follow that type of weight loss any more. Switch up to something slower.
Also, do not follow that type of weightloss for very long. Like a couple of months at most. Otherwise you'll start impacting metabolism, thyroid, adrenals etc...

Thats awesome Paradigm. You should be very proud of yourself. You are doing what 95% of the population cant or wont do. Thats very cool.
It is a great feeling when that scale starts moving in the right direction.
I hope you are having fun with your worlouts because that is very important to continuing. I think the aches and pains that come from working out are cool. They are a constant reminder that you are making it happen, not waiting for it to happen like most people do.

You will have to buy new pants in a couple of weeks which is always fun to do. I bought some one time and before I even wore them, they were too big and I had to buy smaller ones. It's a small price to pay for losing that fat.

Good luck and congratulations.

great job man. just dont get discouraged if you hit a plateau for 4 or 5 weeks after a few months. just change up your workouts and macro percentages a little and it will come off eventually.

Is it OK to lose 1-3 pounds every week on the same routine until you reach your goal?

It's considered safe. There's a point when even 1 lb /week becomes really difficult, but it doesn't happen until you reach a really low %bf and 99% of us don't shoot for that.
