This kind of coincides w/ my other thread...

Is Methyl Ripped work? Are there any side effects? I'm assuming its far from a Steroid...

I was going to try it out for a few weeks and see what my results were. Here's a link to their website:

60 bucks for essentially caffeine and greentea extract. Personally I say have a couple cups of coffee and a couple cups of decaffeinated green tea. It will get you way further for less money.

Take your savings and buy quality fish oil caps. Take ~6-8g /day.

With all due respect (seriously), if you are asking questions like this you should not even consider anything more than a multivitamin and maybe protein powder. You would be wasting your money.

Start reading the sticky threads, and then put together a good diet and training routine. Post it to the forum for critique and review, along with your stats and goals. I'll help you work on these things if you want, you just do the initial homework and research. :)

I'll do that. I'm not a total newbie to this...as I've been in the gym for a few years and I gained 15 lbs last year...i just did it with almost no supplements..just alot of training and eating. Thanks!

That's great Jason! Why not just keep going?

Look if you want to add supplements I recommend going in this order:

First a multi. There are many good ones. I use AtLarge's MultiPlus but there are many others.

Second, protein powder. You could think of this as food because it's just an easy way to get more protein in your diet. I use it mostly for the convienece factor (I eat between 6 and 8 meals a day and don't want to cook THAT often).

Third, fish oil and flax-seed oil. Both are good to increase the healthy fats in your diet.

Forth, creatine monohydrate.

That's about as far as I would go right now. :)

Thanks for the help!

I've been on a multi-vitamin for a while now, and have several protien powders. Obviously shakes are for added protien/calories...they're not miracle muscle grower! I will definitley look into fish oil caps...do they add calories? I'm also taking vitamin C.

And the reason why I'm trying to bring some supplements in...is that I can't seem to keep the weight up. I was at 160...and I now weigh about 148 (I'm 5/7). Keeping the calories up is hard! I'm currently trying to cut to a really low BF%...then clean bulk. My bench is about 285 (max was 315), I can squat 285 (max was 315), shoulder press 65s, curl 45s (max was 50s). I'm just not very big, I've got a muscular build but I'd like to fill out my arms some.

Oh you're trying to put on muscle? I thought by the product you were looking at that you wanted to drop fat - isn't that a fatburner? :)

You probably just need to eat more. List out your stats (height, weight, age, etc.) and list out a sample day of your current diet (Meal 1, meal 2, etc.). Be specific if you can. Also show us details on your training routine (split, exercises, sets, reps, etc.).

I'm trying to drop fat right now...and get my body fat as low as possible before I clean bulk. I don't have muscle measurements...but could take some (if I find my tape!)

Stats:
Age: 21
Height: 5'7
Weight: 148
Waist: 30" Pants so probably 28"

This is what I eat:
1 Cup oatmeal
4 Egg Whites (somtimes 3 egg whites 1 whole egg)

1 Serving Honey Wheat Pretzels
1 Serving Trader Joe's Almonds

Sandwich: Usually pastrami or roat beef, 2 slices whole wheat bread, mustard, lettuce or spinach leaves. Sometimes Tuna with light mayo, walnuts, and a little relish.

Myoplex Lite Protien Shake

Chicken Breast (or sometimes steak) usually bbq'd. With Grean Beans/Broccoli or sometimes Corn

I also need to find some things that i can eat out...but I'm pretty much limited to sandwiches. I'm also thinking of bringing Protien Pancakes w/ natty PB in (instead of eggs/oatmeal)

Pancake Ingredients:

I found the recipe I was looking for:

1/2 cup instant oatmeal (uncooked)
1/2 cup cottage cheese
5 egg whites (or 2 wholes + 1 white for a skinny guy like you )
1 tsp. vanilla extract
cinnamon (to taste)
2 packs of Sweet 'N Lo

Optional: Half banana

Anything else you need to know...?
