Fri, July 14th, 2006, 01:09 PM For books, I would recommend his latest, Challenge Yourself, since it represents Clarence Bass's current thinking and his reactions to the latest research. If nothing else, he is very thorough in reaching conclusions about diet and training. I also have Ripped 2, with a slightly different approach to training (some of which he no longer follows). I have the original set of DVDs but not the follow-up ones. They are useful if you are going to follow his adaptation of HIT and his natural, high-fiber diet. There is no questioning the body he has built (and continues to maintain) with his approach. There is not a lot in the DVDs that you cannot find in the books, but the scenes of his heavy-duty workouts are impressive. JVib Fri, July 14th, 2006, 01:42 PM I have Ripped I, II, & III, Lean for Life & Challenge Yourself. I have read them all more than once. They all have a lot of useful information. I followed his basic plan (on & off) for years (mid 90’s to the end of 2005) and had some pretty good success. But, I have had more success over the last 6-7 months then I did for the (aprox) 9 years of following Bass with the BFFM (Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle) E-Book & this forum. IMO if you want to live healthy and be reasonably cut then Bass’ books/information will work well. If you want to get really cut, and are more into natural body building then BFFM is better. I still visit Bass' web page, it has tons of useful info. |
