I'm in the mood to experiment. I work out with a lot of folks doing martial arts and few of them swear by the warrior diet. They're not huge and cut, but they do lift and are hideously strong.

I'm going to violate of every rule of nutrition as I understand it (well, almost all of them) and go on the warrior diet for the next ten weeks to see how it works for me. If I remember, I'll post the results here.

(I will still be counting calories, but I'll aim for 350 calories during the day, 2200 calories during the bedtime "big meal")

What made me want to try this...

2 reasons...
1) I'll try it because my buddies/training partners try it.
2) I do have a tendancy to binge at night already, so it does fit a mental pattern that I'm constantly battling against.

While I understand the basic premise of the diet, I haven't read the book. I'm definitely interested in hearing your results so please report back with your progress.

The only problem I see with this diet is that I prefer working out in the evenings. My body typically requires a lot of fuel prior to working out. I can't see it being very conducive to strength and or mass gains but then again I haven't tried it.

Good luck man!

No offense but this diet sounds stupid. It has a cool name though.

I'd be interested in following this - have you considered running a Journal for your experiences here?

Perhaps keeping logs of your weight/bf% obviously, as well as some key measurements, and indications of your lifts going up/down.

Non-traditional doesn't necessarily mean bad, so I am open minded to this.

Either way, good luck, and try keep us posted somehow!

Good luck! I'd personally go f**king bonkers eating that little during the day. My already short fuse would be permanently burnt to the quick and I'd be near-homicidal, I think. I suspect I'd also need at least 3000 calories in that big meal to even begin to atone for the sins of hunger earlier in the day.

Agree, you will feel incredibly tired. I'd be interested in hearing how your mood changes as well.

So, I did one day in the warrior diet. I know I said I would give it weeks and weeks...I lied.

Dear god in heaven, that sucked.

I had no energy. By the time I got off of work, I was so tired that I sat down on the couch and promptly fell asleep until midnight. I did no exercise (due to falling asleep) and felt generally fatigued all day.

The warrior diet is for folks that are stronger than me, I guess.

2 weeks is a no go, huh? :nope:

Oh well, I'll admit that I was very curious about it. I think I'll keep checking around before I try it myself. Seems to me it's kind of how I ate as a teenager.

Anyone else interested in giving the rest of us the benefit of your experimental side?

Surprising this is not.
