Its just so typical of me, get into weight training (and loving it) then get talked into a cycling for 4-5 hrs a day for a 3 weeks. I get the feeling its like mixing oil and water.

Ive got months off to travel, I always wanted a summer off to do what ever i wanted, now i just want to stay at home and use weights LOL.

I will be riding for 4-5 hrs a day at around 100-130 HEART RATE (trying not to go too intense), im on 2700 calories to maintain at the moment. Any ideas how many more calories i should be taking while riding ? Thanks.

While on your long rides, try to eat every 30-45 minutes.
If your weight starts dropping, increase the amount you eat.
Everyone's bodies burn calories at different rates - you'll just have to experiement.

When i go for 3hr rides, i eat 1/3 a cliff bar every 45 minutes, while constantly drinking from waterbottles containing 1/2 gatoraid 1/2 water mixture... and I'm maintaining my weight.
If i go for longer rides, i stop at a gas station and get a can of moutain dew and eat 2 brownsugar poptarts. (best combination on earth)

Weigh yourself everyday to make sure your weight isnt dropping too much, and constantly keep yourself hydrated.

Also after the ride, dextrose + whey shake (ratio of 4:1 carbs : protein)
I do 100g dex, 24g whey, but i'm 6'1, 185, 9%bf... so you might want to take less than me.
