My mother has given up on basic diets and thinks she wants to try atkins type things but she's vegetarian, a nurse told me vegetarian low carb book diets are available.
i believe the kick up her bum this will provide in terms of lifestyle changes will make her more open to my more complex dietary advice later on, it certainly can't hurt - she is entering late 40's and i am concerned and willing to do anything to help her move out of danger overweight teritory.
i do not wish someone who has given up smoking, meat and done so much for their health to be endangered by a previously untreated hormone condition that caused weight gain. that is now treated but my mother needs to get back on form.
her ideal weight is 11stone (technically 10 stone 11 lbs) she has never been that weight (min 12 stone). she can't manage normal diets and believes she needs something different which can help her change her lifestyle radically. I believe low carb would be a kick up the bum which could help her stick to a more balanced diet later on as well without over endulging on junk food. advice? preferably book reccomendations.
the nurse said the book had the word "rose" in it, but she was unsure.
