Just curious if any others have had the same results with straight Arginine, or straight Citrulline,...

A while back, I gave NoExplode a try,...Stomach couldn't take it. Just couldn't handle it at all,..It's recomended to be taken on an empty stomach, so that's what I was doing. It would have me headed or the bathroom in a matter of minutes. Sometimes all but instantly.

At the time I had been using BSN Cell Mass as a creatine supliment, and that was working very well, so I wanted to give the NoExplode a try along with it as a pre workout booster, looking for that extra "Pump". Realizing some use "NO" products to achieve the same effect, I decided to give BSN's Nitrix a try instead, and see how my system handled that. All went well,....The Nitrix began to do what it was intended to after a few days, and the bottle was gone pretty quick based on the dosage recomended by BSN. It was to be taken on an empty stomach as well, but BSN has mixed a time release agent of some type in it to slow it's absorbsion.

Being the cheap skate,..I mean, Frugal person I am,...:D I had read that some folks use just the Arginine, or Citrulline, straight, as a "NO" supliment, cutting out the extras, that most of the manufactures of supliments like this add to their products, and most of the cost too,..I decided to try using just the Citrulline as a replacement for the Nitrix.

So far, (Three weeks), I have had very good results doing so, and have learned a thing or two about suplimenting with Citruline. One, it is indeed a lot cheaper to use it straight, rather than buying a prepackaged "proprietarty blend" from one of the big name supliment manufactures. Two, and possibly, most importantly for some as myself, I would guess, is that you may want to take it along with food, to act as a means for it's uptake to be slowed. I found if I took it on an empty stomach, it would cause the same reaction as the NoExplode.

I had always thought the caffeine in the NoExplode was what had me running to the bathroom, but after using the Citruline by itself, with the same results, (On and empty stomach), I'm sure it was the Citrulline in the NoExplode that was causing the severe reaction. I now take the Citrulline with a meal in the morning, and with food of some kind, a while prior to my workout, wihout any adverse reactions what so ever.

Thoughts?

Thanks all,...>>>--->

Save your money- the science doesn't back it up.

Consumer Alert: The NO2/Arginine Scam
by David Barr (http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=556124)

Pretty convincing. I'll stick to the trusted, legal performance enhancers- creatine and caffeine.

The "science" also says my protein intake is too high...

And that I HAVE to spike insulin...

And that I'm not using enough volume...

And that I'm wasting money by taking so much BCAA...

 :claphigh: :claplow:

Stick with the citrulline if it's working for you. That "side effect" you speak of, is good in the morning if you feel a little bloated from the night before's meals... How much citrulline are you taking each day?

Kino,..

Based on the mg. per 1/4 tsp. on the container,..It's Bulk brand,..2.5gr. two or three times a day.

From everything I have been able to find on the subject, that seems to be within the recomended dosage. have you found this to be sufficient?, I know you have mentioned using it.

Thanks for the input everybody,..I haven't read the article linked, but will later on. Also I haven't been able to figure out the amount of Citrulline in the NoExplode either. They don't list it separately in the prodcut information,..Anybody have a clue? I'm very curious,..

That dosage should be fine. I think that I'm hitting the high side of 4g twice a day. As far as the amount of citrulline in NO-Xplode...I'd say it's minimal at best, since it costs more than arginine. Meaning...I couldn't find it listed anywhere either.

Thanks for the info. I figured I was on the low end of the scale if anything. I think the Arginine dose in the Nitrix, which I know isn't the same as Citrulline, and I'm not sure how to do the math on it,.. is something like 9gr. a day. From what I have read, it takes less Cotrulline to create the same effects of the Arginine,...

I realize we don't "need" a lot of what is used to help us get to where we want to be with our fitness, and body building, and I may be all wet in trying some of these products, but I'm very much still in the learning stages myself,..and I need all the help I can get,..

Thanks all,...
