View Full Version : Torso Bob
danboback Mon, June 5th, 2006, 04:15 PM My birthday is coming up and my girlfriend bought me a new piece of training equipment. I really wanted to get a punching bag, but living in an apartment kinda hinders me from getting one. So I got the next best thing. Torso Bob!!!

I will actually start doing HIIT for a little while with this. It is definitely a good work out!! And I can take out some frustration!
guava Mon, June 5th, 2006, 04:22 PM How big is Torso Bob? Does he fight back?
danboback Mon, June 5th, 2006, 04:48 PM It's height is adjustable....lowest is about 5' and can be raised to about 6'6". He only fights back when you don't put enough water in the bottom and bouces off something:lol:
TheRyanator Mon, June 5th, 2006, 04:59 PM yeah, thats cool. His leg(s) look kinda funny though!
Omaha Mon, June 5th, 2006, 06:30 PM Haha, my neighbor has one of those. He sits it in his garage and beats the hell out of it. It actually looks kinda strange when he has his garage door up in the summer.
I'd take a punching bag over that thing any day (and have) but in a pinch, it certainly would be a nice substitute.
A punching bag has at least a bit of give, does that? Looks like it could either be made out of foam or plastic.
Ever look at the double end bags? I have one in my basement and they are a workout in them selves, if you are using them right. 3, 3 min rounds and your drained.
Andrew Mon, June 5th, 2006, 06:36 PM Lol, I searched, and one guy talking about it wrote
"The BOB's torso is filled with urethane foam to give the torso a little give while retaining the solid feel you'd expect from a person.. The head is either partially or totally hollow, however, because a solid punch will cave it in."
Haha.

spongimp Tue, June 6th, 2006, 01:55 AM i am so jealous! i really want one of those...
danboback Tue, June 6th, 2006, 01:09 PM The body is made out of a rubberlike material and it feels like your actually punching someone. The body has more density than the head. The head shouldn't cave in due the neck giving out.
From past experience of having a heavy this thing is a lot better. I can punch it hard without out fear of hurting myself. I am very happy with the quality and the design and I would recommend it to anyone looking from something to beat the hell out of! :tu:
badgolfer Tue, June 6th, 2006, 03:15 PM Torso Bob looks like a good time.

Plus it sounds like it's good practice for when you have to punch actual people.
