View Full Version : Ab Wheel
Shane Reid Wed, May 17th, 2006, 09:38 PM I just purchased a cheap 10$ Ab Wheel from Crappy tire a week ago. And I must say, it's quite a workout indeed. It's not like those fancy infomercial one's that help you on the retract. Just a stick with two wheels together.
I disliked doing situps immensly because of my abckbone, but since I've used this Ab training is fun. I'm not sure if im doing it 100% right though. Since my arms and legs feel like they're being used as mucha s that abs useing the wheel.
I never see anyone mention anything good about it. But since I sawjackie chan uesing it to train in one of his movie's I've always wondered what it was like.
Omaha Mon, May 22nd, 2006, 10:35 PM Yeah I know exactly what you are talking about. They aren't toys.
And it just goes to prove people will screw with even the simplest of tools.

I remember using one a few months ago, it was too hard to do it properly so I never got one. Felt silly doing them anyway...

So this wheel has worked for you? I remember my folks having one years ago. I thought it was great fun to use,...I was looking at them a few days ago in a retail store. Thought they should still do the trick,...haven't got one yet,...

Shane Reid Fri, May 26th, 2006, 01:31 AM Yeah it seems to be working good for me, although I still do situps, I just rotate back and forth to keep from boredom. It's fun to use for the first few weeks.
As you can see in the link posted by Omaha that thing is probabaly less of a workout then just the plain stick with a wheel. The infomercial one's use the energy going down to help you back up if im not mistaken...why would you want that, the way back up is the other half of the work  And it probabaly costs a fortune compared to the $9.99 one I picked up.
GRCRYSTYK Fri, May 26th, 2006, 08:18 AM Shane reid,..
Thanks man,...I may just give t a try again after all theses years,...Liek you said,..It's not a "must have", but it's nice to change things up from time to time,...

Shane Reid Sun, May 28th, 2006, 05:05 PM Whoa. I like that guys style of training. I never thought to stand up and go ALL the way down and all the way back up, have to try that soon.
Anyone know which beastie boys song that is? It is beastie boys right?

Isn't that how you're supposed to use an ab wheel or, at least, your goal if you don't yet have the strength?
Shane Reid Sun, May 28th, 2006, 11:14 PM I'm not sure...I always do it from the on four leg position. Like starting off with your butt sitting on your heels, then slowly going down until your abs are an inch or so off the ground and your body is stretched out, hold, then come back to the starting position. I guess I'm doing it the beginner way

 On the knees is the easier way. It's like doing push-ups from your knees. From standing like how he's doing it is how you should aim to do it once you have the strength. Most people have to start on their knees because the ab wheel is fairly hard.

I'll try and find it later and post it...
It's not on Licensed to Ill, if I get a chance I'll check my other BB CD.
I found it. It's "So What'cha Want". I don't know which CD it's originally from, but it's on the Anthology CD.
