Does anyone know how to develop good muscle control? Like you know how pro bodybuilders can move specific muscles at will? I have a lot of trouble doing that. Do you need a lot of muscle mass to be able to control it well?
Specifically, I have trouble contracting my lats. How about you guys?

The mind-muscle connection is one of the most important concepts in training. It takes years to develop, and from my experience, can always be improved on.
Here's a technique for feeling your lats more, utilizing a mental trick to help establish mind-muscle connection - (when performing lat pulldowns):
1 -- start with a lower weight than normal.
2 -- grip the bar with a wide grip that utilizes only your fingers, do not wrap your thumbs around the bar.
3 -- slightly contract your shoulder blades and lats
4 -- Pull the weight down. While pulling, visualize that your elbows are attached to the bar, not your hands. Feel the connection between your elbows and lats. Perform the movement slowly, squeezing at the bottom with an equally slow negative.
5 -- repeat!
Hope that helps!

Pose in front of a full length mirror. Contract/relax parts of body. Remember it helps to have the muscles, to show them. The mind/eye connection is done with the mirror.

It also helped me to try contracting muscles while they are sore from a previous workout. That way you have instant feedback (it hurts if you contract the right muscle).
