Hi John & Lisa.

If the number of members climbs as fast as it has today, the first day these forums are live, then you will really have your hands full.

Anyway, I have a few ideas for further forum topics, and I'm sure others will too.

1 Recipies. (Coz keeping to healthy foods can be achingly dull sometimes)

2 Motivational tips/pointers.

3 Goals forum. (You state your aims, how you plan to achieve them, and how well you do in that respect)

4 Equipment. (Recommendations/steer clears)

5 Supplements. (Prices/taste/quality)

6 Personal bests. (not absolute figures, but as a percentage of bodyweight)

7 Workout technique.

I know that these things interest me, and they will interest at least some others. However, your site is less than 24h old, it will take time to gain a sense of what exactly the flavour of the new forums should be.

Andrew.

Yea, its pretty busy so far and its only just started! This place certainly has potential to become even more of a wealth of information than it already is, which can only be a good thing :)

I'm not sure how feasable this would be, or if there would be webspace/size issues, but it would be cool to see the visual 'transformation' for others here. Like the starting point, and where you are now.

Good suggestions, all. I'm going to maybe add one or two more forums right away, and then wait and see how things shake out over the next few weeks.

Thanks to everyone who registered and helped start this forum off with a bang! I think we're all gonna have a lot of fun here! :)

How about a Photo Gallery Forum
a place we can post what our set up looks like, techniques etc....

John, How about a women's forum? There seem to be a few of us, but our nutrient intake, weight training, etc. (and website recommendations) will be different. It's tough sorting through all the guy posts to find what we are looking for.

Thanks!

I'd like to suggest a forum for women as we are looking for different things in weight training. I'm just getting started and would love to talk to other women about ideas regarding weight loss and adding definition without getting bulky. Anyone else interested?

Yes indeed!! I believe we are quite few waiting for that. And John, I am amazed about your capability to work, work out, respond to mail in the forum, and private messages. How many hours do yoy really have in your day?? Thanks to you, and thanks to Lisa as well, supporting you in supporting us!
Xray :tucool:

I'd like to add my voice to the suggestion about a Recipie forum. If that was separate instead of a part of "nutrition", it could slowly build up to become a "John Stone Forum Cookbook", since no other posts would be mixed in among the recipies (as they would currently with recipies in the nutrition forum).

I do find that my biggest problem with eating healthily is also trying to eat nice. And even if you find a few nice things, it gets old after a while. So a place to share our favourite healthy meals would be great!

Also, lemme take this opportunity to thank you for this great site, which has been a boost for my motivation.

Andrew M had a suggestion for a forum such as equipment recomendations and steer clears. A forum where members can post reviews (pro's & con's) on equipment they currently have would be a great help to those currently looking.

With all of the equipment available and all different price ranges its difficult to weed out good from the bad since most of it is only available online. I have been looking for weeks now for the right set up but the selections and prices are endless. For example I think I have switched from looking for a rack to a bench set up due to a lack of space. The number of bench set ups are mind numbing and after looking for numerous hours I don't feel like I'm any futher along that I was when I started.

Members can also review supplements, books, recipes or stores they may have purchased items from etc.

Just an idea if enough people could contribute. Kind of like a consumer reports from and for the members.

Okay, I've had lots of requests and there seems to be considerable interest in a dedicated equipment forum. Also, the number of members here is growing pretty quickly, so my initial concerns about fragmentation are pretty much out the window at this point. I'll have it ready shortly!

Thanks for all the great suggestions and posts. You all are making this a really fun and educational place to hang out. :tu:
