Is it ok to comsume mayonnaise in small/mild dosages? For example, I like boiled eggs, but I can't eat them with nothing on them. I usually use 1 tbsp of mayo on 2-3 eggs with sprinkled chopped dill :eat: . I also like mixing it with fish (tuna, pink salmon). I checked the nutri facts, it doesn't look *that* bad. What do you think? Is there some mayo better than the other? How about a home made (i've heard it's pretty easy)?

The only way a person can vote they dislike mayonnaise is by is by saying it would rape their father?

I don't like mayonnaise. I like Miracle Whip (Lite), which I use in tuna sometimes.

No, you can also post a message saying that you don't like it. And the "controlled substance" option is also negative. It's a scale from 1-4. What options would you put?

I think you may have touched a nerve (http://www.theonion.com/content/node/33660), moltar.

Not a fan of Mayo, but don't have any negative passion towards it really.

Heh, sorry if I got anyone offended. I didn't mean to. I wrote the poll early in the morning, so I wasn't thinking straight yet :) Now that I think about it, it is pretty silly.

But what I really wanted to know, is not people's personal tastes, but rather if it's healthy or not and if it's recommeded when for cutting weight/fat?

Mayo- personally I like it (the taste). But on a diet? For cutting it generally is a bad idea. The one tablespoon adds 57 calories, almost ALL from fat, 20% of that saturated. No protein.

For bulking? Marginally better. I -suppose- you cuold work it into you overall numbers but there are better options for low-impact condiments.

If you mix a tablespoon or two into a large amount of tuna for tuna salad the impact is low. But then you might as well use a low/no-fat variety as you are mostly using it for glue, anyway.

And about the poll... meh... :bang:

Utter $%@#.

There are a few guys at my school that get spoon fulls of it at the condiment table. Put it on everything.

Must unhealthy, fat slobs I have ever seen in my life. Greasy nasty skin and hair, just utterly disgusting.

Not saying put some mayo on a ham sandwich and become that, I'm just throwing it out there.

Good imagery :) Surely to turn anyone away from mayo !

Personally, I like Hellman's Reduced Fat Mayonnaise Dressing. It's not clean, but it's significantly lower in fat, and it goes great with tuna and chicken!!

Mayo which is like 15 calories per spoon. oddly enough i don't notice a difference in the taste...

Sure I've used the stuff, never got hooked though. I'm into Kraft Free Ranch dressing w/ my tuna, eggs, and salmon.

Hmmm...I've never thought of using dressing. I'll have to try that!

Dressings have way too much weird chemicals in them. I don't think those are good for you.

i fit real mayo into my macros.

whip has carbs and the times i use mayo is the times im mixing it with tuna or in a tuna salad... protein.

it fits in my situated carb lifestyle. the other junk has carbs in it.

i dont need carbs when im seperating.

infact im running out of mayo. i need to go by some right now.

i might buy the low fat kind... so i can add more to my tuna.

Is the low fat kind really better for you? Often times on this board people say low fat options are often worse for you than the regular varieties. Lof-fat mayonnaise in particular I hear has a lot more carbs than the regular variety.

I can't stand the texture or taste of mayo. It makes me think of gear oil or something. Gross.

If I have a dry sandwich, I usually put some vinegar on it...

My thoughts on mayo: Ewwwww.

If I want flavor, hot sauce, salsa, pepper flakes, dijon mustard ...

If I want fat, olive oil ...

Oh yes!!!! Welcome to the fold...

FWIW, I love mayo on artichokes, in tuna and potato salad, on a BLT etc., but I cannot taste the difference between the real stuff and the fake stuff.

I generally don't like mayonnaise either, as a matter of fact, when I smell it from the jar I sometimes gag. But there are some foods that really can't be made without mayonnaise, like cole slaw, potato salad, and tuna fish sandwiches. Well, some suggest putting ranch dressing in tuna, which is great, but that's probably not any healthier than mayonnaise.
