Should have asked this before I started the loading phase, but there you go...is it ok? Or does it only make sense on a bulk?

View Full Version : Is it ok to take creatine on a cut? marysson Sun, April 30th, 2006, 07:53 AM Should have asked this before I started the loading phase, but there you go...is it ok? Or does it only make sense on a bulk? Hort Sun, April 30th, 2006, 08:00 AM For energy and muscle growth yes, but if you, like many, bloat while on straight creatine, it may hide your progress and frustrate you. Try something like CEE, CEM (Cell Mass) Thunder, etc... some estherized form of creatine to prevent bloat and avoid loading/cycling. marysson Sun, April 30th, 2006, 08:07 AM I've got a big jar of Cell-Tech. Its creatine with a dose of dextrose, which is supposed to get the creatine into the muscles better. Know anything about this brand? http://www.muscletech.com/PRODUCTS/CELL-Tech/CELL_Tech.shtml cabster21 Sun, April 30th, 2006, 08:10 AM That's a popular brand, and a lot of people say good things. Just as some say bad. It's also debated whether or not taking creatine with a carb will increase the amount you absorb or not. You could try creatine malate, worked great for me. But i wouldn't use it whilst losing weight. Bluestreak Sun, April 30th, 2006, 08:40 AM Use it. Post workout, or start drinking it half way through your workout, slowly. Do a search on CellTech, creatine and my username. I've talked about this subject many times. -R Omaha Sun, April 30th, 2006, 09:33 AM Dextrose = sugar. You might want to save that for a bulking phase, or at least watch your sugar intake like a hawk. Definition of Dextrose Dextrose: Better known today as glucose, this sugar is the chief source of energy in the body. Glucose is chemically considered a simple sugar. It is the main sugar that the body manufactures. The body makes glucose from all three elements of food, protein, fat and carbohydrates, but in largest part from carbohydrates. Glucose serves as the major source of energy for living cells. It is carried to each cell through the bloodstream. The cells cannot, however, use the glucose without the help of insulin. When sampled in blood, glucose is tested in transit. It still may make you bloat, the increased insulin creation will do something to hinder your visual gains as well, but can’t remember what it will do exactly. Good luck though. mastover Sun, April 30th, 2006, 10:26 AM Typically, sugar should be avoided on a cut. Personally, I'd get rid of the Cell-tech ( I wouldn't even recommend it on a gaining phase) and use pure monohydrate or CEE. I would most DEFINITELY keep creatine in during a fat-loss phase. You want to retain as much muscle as possible during this time. Creatine will assist in the uptake of lean tissue. The greater muscle retention on a cut, the more fat you'll burn. The Abdominal Snowman Sun, April 30th, 2006, 10:45 AM The loss of strength(increase) and energy common to a cut can be even greater if you stop taking creatine. That's the reason I personally keep taking it. COBound158 Sun, April 30th, 2006, 11:41 AM Also, if you are doing harder workouts to burn more calories, you will recover faster if you supplement with creatine. I would recommend CEE over monohydrate on a cut, but i guess thats just my preference. rtestes Sun, April 30th, 2006, 01:17 PM Should have asked this before I started the loading phase, but there you go...is it ok? Or does it only make sense on a bulk? Comment from the other side, I say no not on a cut. Why, just my opinion. It won't hurt you. Like Mastover, just plain creatine Mono. |
