I've been preparing shakers I got from Tupperware at the beginning of the week so I can grab them on the go. The protein powder is kept dry in a container that screws on the bottom but I fill the container with the requisite amount of water and the flax and cod liver oil I take with it.
It all sits in the fridge until I grab it... and then I keep it in a portable cooler (like the insulated bags for sodas)... but I was wondering....since you can't mix a lot of supps and powder in advance... I was wonder if "oil and water" don't mix... i.e., the flax and or fish oil degrade sitting in water for several days or more.
Anybody got any idea?
Here is a link to the container I got from Tupperware:
Stow and Go Sports Bottle (http://order.tupperware.com/coe/app/tup_show_item.show_item_detail)
They advertise the storage container for keys while you are in the gym... but I put my protein powder in there. Warning, though... the protein powder does not go easily in to the container when it is time to mix because the cup lip is somewhat bigger than the bottle lip. I always do it outside of my car (that is usually when I need this..when I am on the go driving everywhere all day) so the excess powder falls on the ground rather than in my car.
The other thing is that you can get them at a discount through Amazon.com... (Be sure to go through John's front page so JSF gets some credit) ... but Amazon automatically adds huge shipping charges that are totally unnecessary. E-mail the Tupperware agent who is offering the lowest price and ask for a break on the shipping. The way they do that is they put a bundle on Amazon's website under you name (mine was called Justitia's bundle) and only add the true cost for shipping. This does not rip Amazon off or anything... Amazon just automatically tacks on shipping charges according to some formula that the merchant keeps. I think it is Amazon's way of trying to keep things more even.
Anyway, even though I find the powder spillage annoying, I still love them... and as long as it seems OK to mix the oil and water in advance I will probably order 4 more to the 4 I already have so I can have a whole week's supply in the fridge.
