Jeez but I get irritable when I am late for a meal. I never used to but now that my diet is so well planned and calculated, I get very irritable if I am half an hour late for a meal.
I feel loads better once I have eaten.
Not serious just wondering if anyone else has the same reaction...

Yeah it happens to me.
I actually never miss meals. I just don't allow it to happen and my schedule usually works perfectly to not allow any missed meals.
However, if the timing is off by an hour or so sometimes it really drives me up the wall. Work gets in the way sometimes and it is tough for co-workers to understand why you must have your fourth meal of the day! :)

I get quite irritated if something delays my meal - though perhaps not as much as I used to, since you get a sense of perspective after a while.
I think in my case part of the irritation comes from the idea of something or someone interfering with my schedule in any way. I like every decision to be something that I have made or at least approved. When that's not the case, I get this horrible gaping sense of arbitrariness :)

Yes I get irritable because my meals are just large enough to get me by the next 2-3 hrs. If a meal gets pushed back for any reason by an hour or so, I am very uncomfortable and thus irritable.

Yep, definitely. I think part is psychological and part physiological. If I get too hungry I can't concentrate as well which is a huge irritation. I seem to be able to control the irritation if I really can't eat, but I prefer to roll with it most the time because it keeps me motivated.

I really think there is something to be said for John's recent posts in regards to this topic. Physically, your body might start to get uncomfortable if you go past that three hour window, but in the end it will be ok....and you aren't going to lose 5 lbs of muscle by eating a little bit later. (I hope!....:D )
At the moment you might think, "Wow. This sucks. I NEED food!" But fast forward about six months from this point. More than likely you still are dedicated to your fitness/nutrition habits, so if you think back to that one day where you had to eat one meal one hour later than planned sounds pretty silly.
It's tough to remember at times that this is a life long journey. It's ok to relax and not freak out about it. Not saying that you should permanently relax your habits, but remember that life is much more enjoyable when you don't over complicate it.
