I've read about carb cycling before, either the no/low/high day or the high on weight training days and low on cardio/rest days. Now, I would NEVER try a no carb day! However, I've always cycled my calories with higher carbs on weight training days and lower carbs on cardio/rest days. But I've only every shifted by 200kcal (50g of carbs) max. I was reading Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle again :D the other day and thought I'd ask if anyone tried the 3 days low carb, 1 day high carb that Tom suggests. Metabolism is the most effective weapon in weight loss, and we all know although carb or calorie cycling helps, if you are at a calorie deficit, your metabolism slows down. If you want your metabolism to reset, you need to eat at maintenance or above for 1 day or more a week. This is why carb refeeds and cheat days are so popular is because they boost metabolism. The reason WHY people plateau in fat loss is metabolism slowing down. Your body adapts to the current calorie intake.

I'm going to try the 3 days low carb (1900kcal)/1 day high carbs (2700kcal) approach over the next couple of weeks and will get back to you with results. Currently sitting at 10% bf and been there for 3 weeks now :( . Just wanted to see if anyone else tried this method.

I have tried and also prescribed something similar to people.

The idea is basically like having 2 cheat meals/days per week, on every 4th day. (Normally 1 cheat day per week while cutting/maintaining is popular) Some also use "cheat" days as "carb up days", so this is like loading every 4th day instead of every week. Works well for people with higher than average metabolisms if your calories are going to go over your maintenence 2 times per week.

Oops forgot to update this. After trying 3 days low/1 day high, I managed to get to 68.5kg and around 8-9% bodyfat whilst increasing my weights at the gym. So, this plan certainly works. May I suggest starting on a higher calorie limit than me though, say 2200kcal low/2700kcal high and depending on your activities/cardio, don't go too low on the carbs. Now however, my cut has suffered a blow....I've got an exam coming up on the 7th June....Business Taxation....great! Anyhow, since this is not a log I won't say too much:D . I will be eating pretty much whatever whenever as I am working a full time job as well as studying. Will be back to training and dieting in 10 days! Promise!
