View Full Version : yeah more questions from me lol
tashimarie Fri, March 26th, 2004, 11:15 AM ok so i started eating breakfast, watching my carbs and calories, drinking tons of water (ok tons by my standards lol), and cut out the soda....i still have my coffee lol.....anyway for the last two days (since i started this) i am feeling dizzy......could i not be consuming enough water? maybe my body is adjusting? am i missing something in the nutrition field?
i take vitamins everyday as i have for the last 10 months (prenatal vitamins, they stuck with me lol).....should i be taking different kinds of vitamins?
ahhhhhhh im so confused :confused:
corbint Fri, March 26th, 2004, 11:28 AM if you were a big soda drinker, your mind could be making the adjustment to the lack of caffeine, etc. when you say "watching your calories", how much are you eating? how much do you weigh and what is your intake. if you arent getting enough, you can feel sick, etc. post your diet and let us help!
tashimarie Fri, March 26th, 2004, 11:34 AM well im currently 122 pounds
yesturday my total calorie intake was about 2000 (and that was with cutting down on the soda, i only drank 3 glasses as opposed to 8-10 lol)
i ate breakfat (plain wheat toast) and found myself hungry every 2-3 hours after that and so ate, PB sandwhich (3), for luch i had crackers with crab dip and a salad, for dinner i had a fish fillet and mixed vegies (1 cup)....but then i was hungry again at 9 PM, though i managed to not eat lol.
i cant really say what my calorie intake was before that because i ate less frequently (1-2 times a day in large amounts) and drank alot more soda.....this is day two of trying to eat better lol

I was drinking 16 cans of pepsi a day before I found this site. I had to quit cold turkey. No other way for me. I went through a four day headache and dizziness like you wouldn't believe. But once it was over it was great! It's only been 9 weeks now and I have lost 22 pounds and drink about 3 liters of water a day. It looks like with the crackers and such you are still getting a lot of the simple carbs which will make you hungry quicker. If you like the baked lays chips or some kind like that, it will help with a turkey sandwich. But I eat every 3 hours. And if you get hungry at 9 p.m., eat! But eat clean. This will keep you burning while you sleep. I hope this helps.
tashimarie Fri, March 26th, 2004, 11:45 AM thanks! im still really confused about the whole carb thing, according to fitday.com carbs are 77% of my diet......i wonder if thats bad lol. can anyone tell me how much fat and carbs i should aim to ingest daily?
baldridges Fri, March 26th, 2004, 12:14 PM Ok, I will try to make this simple. I would try to aim for 20% of your calories to come from fat, 40% from carbs, and 40% from protein. There is a formula to use to get an estimate of this. I will use my diet yesterday as an example, and put my stats in parenthasis.
Take your total number of calories (2099).
For fat, multiply the grams you have that day times 9, then divide that by the number of calories you had that day. Mine looked like this:
(44.7 X 9) / 2099 = .1917 = 19.17%
For Carbs and Protein, multiply those grams by 4, then divide the calories. Like this:
carbs = (206.9 X 4) / 2099 = .394 = 39.4%
protein = (214.3 X 4) / 2099 = .4084 = 40.84%
Also, I was feeling dizzy when I first started too. Not sure why, but it passed eventually.
Hope this helps.

I like this plan from John's own diet. I have stuck very closely to his diet and workouts and found it amazing the results I've been getting.40% protien, 40% carbs and 20% fat
Fluogen Fri, March 26th, 2004, 12:18 PM I aim for 40% carbs, 40% protein and 20% fat (40/40/20 split) each day and that seems fairly common. I've only been doing it a week but I'm getting used to it. I can't believe how many carbs and how little protein I was getting before.
