I have an out-patient surgery tomorrow and I cannot eat or drink anything after midnight tonight until late afternoon tomorrow. I don't know if I will get up early enough to do it... but if I do, would it be counter-productive to fasted LISS in the early AM before I leave for the hospital if I can't eat within an hour after?

I sort of don't want to break my routine. I am just getting it going again... now that the semester is over.

It sounds like a good reason to miss that workout, you know what procedurce is, I don't, but don't push you have a lifetime to do cardio.

Yeah. I wouldn't do a workout before going into surgery, even a non-taxing one. At least not without clearing it with the doctors first.

I would skip that workout. You never know, if there are any complications from the minor surgery, you want to be as rested as possible. You can always catch up later with fitness.

I'll third that sentiment. Forego the cardio. There'll be plenty of time for it post-recovery. I know that feeling of anxiety as I just went through 3+ weeks of dormency due to surgery, but it's best you rest beforehand. You'll likely need the strength after the procedure.

SKIP the workout, especially if fasted. With no water (remember you can't drink either) you'll show up for your procedure dehydrated -bleh!

Take a few days off. Hell, we need to rest a day after lifting, this is surgery. Don't worry. You'll be good.

I think surgery counts as a good reason- I think even John would skip this one.

I admire your dedication, but skip the cardio on this day.

Not only are you having surgery, but not being able to eat after it will only do more harm than good.
