The FDA is advising to discard any bottle of ReNu brand MoistureLoc contact solution as it's been linked to a rare type of corneal fungus infection:

I normally buy that kind, but the last time I bought solution I accidentally picked up the wrong box! I was annoyed when I got home that day, and didnt feel like bothering to exchange them... but that accident turned into a nice little piece of luck!

The optical centre told me to get rid of all my Renu products...
They switched me to Alcon.

A bunch of people tried to liquidate their stores of this contact solution on eBay, that's pretty low. Ebay removed all the listings though.
Glad I've always used Alcon

That's reallly weird...I don't use that kind though, I have the regular ReNu Multi-Plus.

That's what I use(d), the multiplus.
Never used the moisture-loc.
I quit using the multi plus after I got a couple of infections within a month or so....not sure if it was from the multiplus....but as the gal from the optical centre informed me that the Renu brand in general has a more harsh detergent than most others...so I switched to Alcon...been okay since.
Also, the outbreak is in a more tropical climate (phillipines?)
have'nt heard of any problems in the states....better safe than sorry.

Of course, this gets posted while I'm out camping/off-roading in the middle of nowhere. What do I take with me so I can wear my $20 riding goggles? My contacts. What solution is it? The brand that causes fungal infections!
I don't think it really poses a threat, but I got this bottle for free with my eye exam two months ago. Just to be safe, I'm tossing it.
