So, tomorrow I intend to go buy a new game for PS2. (Yea, I know, it's starting to get a little outdated with the 360 out now, but forgive me for my technological inferiority.) But I was planning on either getting MLB 06: The Show (as I enjoy baseball games) or The Godfather (which just looks sickly good).

Just wondering if anybody already owns either of these titles and perhaps I can get a take on your opinions of them?

Playstation Magazine give the Godfather a 6.0 ou of 10. They are usually pretty good with thier scoring. I just beat Kingdom Hearts 2, great game. You can find the first one on the Greatest Hits for 19.99.

mario kart is the world's best video game. too bad it doesn't exist for playstation.

The Godfather seems decent so far. I think the Grand Theft Auto series is much better. Try GTA Vice City or San Andreas.

I've played Godfather and without giving away the game, it's your basic shoot em up game to complete missions. I now understand and agree what Copolla was talking about when interviewed about the game.

if youre going for a good action game, I would skip the Godfather (not enough strong reviews) and try to pick up RE 4, God of War, or Devil May Cry 3, becaue they are all exellent, and I believe all three are greatest hits, so you'll be able to save $. MLB 06: The Show is excellent, the reviews are very good. You cant go wrong with that.

I agree with all of those picks. Its kind of hard to really choose a game that you like without knowing what you like in general. RE4 and GOW are amazing, Game of the Year quality. Tomb Raider: Legends is supposedly top notch as well. If you're looking for something a little lighter and don't mind throwing out the extra dough, Guitar Hero absolutely rocks. You wouldn't believe the amount of people we have purchase them at my work (Best Buy) every day.

I'd say if you're looking at baseball games, right now The Show is the best one. As for the Godfather, it's a decent game with very GTA3 esque qualities. I'd wait for that one to drop in price before shelling out the dough.
