Jimbo Thu, March 25th, 2004, 05:05 PM I have that too. It seems like the number of bumps has gone down as I lose weight. I'm interested in the answer as well.
LarryNC Thu, March 25th, 2004, 05:08 PM Ever eat steak or ribs, and see that grissle? The fat that u can't break down? Thats what is under your skin, it irritates me beyond belief.

That's about how mine feels. I find that if you shake it a bit first (like before using BF calipers) it can smooth out a little.
Talk about motivation to get in shape

Having dissected a human being for school, I can confidently report that there is no grissle in the fat under your skin.
I never heard of those bumps though...is it a guy thing, or do any of you ladies have bumps in your fat?
smiles Thu, March 25th, 2004, 08:41 PM Hi,
I too, feel that around my spare tire area. Believe it or not, this is "cellulite" - the fatty tissue getting trapped within connective tissue in little pockets. Most of the time it's not visible, but can be felt. I guess the good news is that since it's fat - we can lose it!
I've been a "soft" person most of my life, but it amazes me when I feel someone who is "hard". Like my wife. She's always been muscular and no fat - it's like feeling a lean steak, hard and heavy.
As I lose weight (200 down to 175 but need to be 155) I can start to feel some muscle and hard areas, especially my legs, but my torso and bicep/tricep area are way too soft still.

metron9 Thu, March 25th, 2004, 10:41 PM You could be talking about lipomas, My mom said her dad who was not overweight had them in his forearms, I had one in my right arm outer biceps but since I have lost 30 lbs it is gone now. I still have one in the fat just below the shoulder where the back flairs out, the teres major muscle. If when I get ripped it is still there I am told it cand removed. There are lots of stuff on lipomas if you google it. Some stories I read about people with hundreds of them. I don't think anyone knows just why some people get them, I just hope now that I wont be fat anymore that I dont get any more of them.

View with caution: its a picture of a lipoma that has been removed.
