I've just started using my treadmill (due to my elliptical trainer breaking!!) and I'm having trouble keeping my heart rate in the right zone (138 - 159 bpm) for a reasonable length of time, I seem to be spending a lot of time having to stop and wait for my heart rate to go down (which wasn't a problem with the elliptical) and I don't feel I'm getting as good a workout as I did with the elliptical because of this :( . Is there any way I can solve this, or is it just 'one of thoes things' ?

Any suggestions welcomed...

when I do my cardio I make sure my heart rate is at its target (197), and when I'm slowing down to get my heart rate to come down i don't pay that much attention to what my heart rate is, I pay attention to my effort (60%). Thats all you should really worry about...... effort! ;)
