Hi All,
I've reached a stage in my weightloss campaign where in the last week I have had a co-worker, my brother & my father in law all say I should stop losing weight now, as I am starting to look 'withdrawn' 'gaunt' etc.

I'm 5"11 and currently weight about 82 - 83kg with i guess 11% bf (beginnings of a six pack are just about starting to show).

I will post some progress pics shortly. Personally I don't think i look 'unealthy', on the contrary I think i'm healthier (looking and feeling) than i've ever been in my life! Maybe people are just so used to seeing me as 'fat boy' and 'the big fella' all my life that now i'm freaking them out!

Would be interested to hear in others experiences with this.

Cheers

Seb

When I reached the stage where people were telling me I was too skinny (I was around 10%). I ignored them and continued to try to lose but you know what they were right. It took me a while to realize it but they were right and I am currently clean bulking. Without much muscle, dieting down to 10% makes people look almost sick or ill. Naturally thin people don't really look sick at low BF% but normal people and people who were quite fat often do. Once you add some muscle, I don't think people will be saying you look sick at 11% BF. Just my opinion and experience.

Post up some pics and we'll tell you if we agree with them.

If you are sure they're wrong, just ignore them. We've all been where you're at. Jealousy is usually the culprit. Say you appreciate their advice, be nice, and go have your 4th or 5th meal of the day. Ignore them.

Yea, I experienced the same thing..I'm currently 6'2", and weigh 183 lb, 12% bf and plan on cutting until about 178 or 179 until 9%..People will say "you too skinny" but I really dont think I am...I'm decently strong (max bench 250, curling 95 12 times, deadlift 320 8 times) They are all just used to me being fat, as I've been since I was 14...my max was about 225-230...So I've come along way, and of course people will notice and feel the need to comment. Though I am looking very forward to reaching my fat loss goal, and to start a bulking routine...as I'd like to be at about 185-190 10% eventually.

Hey man, I know exactly what you are going through. I could write a book about it man. The worst is the Grannies and Moms. They are all convinced you are about to pop your clogs and do all that they can to "fatten" you up.

Believe in what you are trying to do and I agree, post some pics and let us be the judges... (we are alot more understanding than mom and gran).
