View Full Version : The Last 8 Weeks of School Challenge!
tensdanny Mon, March 27th, 2006, 11:57 PM School is winding down for the year and there is never a more perfect occasion to finish up a cutting cycle on a high note.
My goal is to lose 1.5 pounds per week while keeping my grades as high as they are right now. I have lost 10 pounds in the first 8 weeks of the semester, and I want to be 25 pounds down when all is said and done.
I intend to accomplish this through my "personal fitness" class m-th at 8am, and then with an extremely healthy veggie, fruit and protein (natural foods) based diet. My additional exercise on top of my fitness class includes lifting 4 days a week, walking to and from campus, and biking for some time each and every day!
This is the time of the year where the winners lay it all on the line and do what it takes to succeed. With finals coming up and all college students wanting to end the year on a high note, I encourage everyone to get on board, post your goals, and make them happen!!
You would be amazed how much more productive you are with your life when you have a fitness goal at the center of it!!
tensdanny Wed, March 29th, 2006, 01:13 AM 1 day down, many more to go :D
I had a leg day today, and it was everything I hoped it could be. Since I began cutting 8 weeks ago, my squat has gone up about 10-15 pounds and I now have much better form. I attribute the increase to the better form.
My personal trainer in my fitness class informed me that I haven't been going down far enough on my squats. When I went completely parallel the amount I was squating pretty much cut in half.
However, over an 8 week period I built up an extremely big resistance and additional strenth through eatting massive post-workout meals and keeping the rest of my days calories really low and full of veggies/fruit.
In addition to this, I've added 10 pounds to my bench while doing 10 reps. Many of my other lifts have exploded as well from perfecting my form and doing the 60g dex/30g protein, followed by like a 600 calories meal.
tensdanny Wed, March 29th, 2006, 11:12 PM Today was my day off from lifting and cardio for the week.
After an extremely successful leg day, my body is giving me the F-off feeling we all know and love post leg day.
My chest is super sore from a grueling workout on monday and now I can barely walk; I love it!
Today I started the day off at noon with a pretty big lunch, I had a hamburger with pickels and ketchup, some pasta with vegetable sauce, and then a slice of pizza and about 64 ounces of water (I drink a ton of water when I eat).
It was really really good.
That was a monsterous meal though, so i toned down the rest of my meals in the day to chicken breasts and assorted fat sources.
Overall, I am very pleased with today. I am hopeful that my goal of 2 pounds lost this week will be achieved!!
tensdanny Fri, March 31st, 2006, 01:08 AM I have two exams tomorrow so I spent the vast majority of my time playing final fantasy 3(procrastinating and thinking about studying) and actually studying. Tomorrow I get to lift as well as all weekend. It's going to be excellent. I should be able to eat a very clean diet this weekend too. That will be very nice.
I ate pretty clean today. I had some white rice and veggies to start the day. I also had a burger and some homemade potato skins. Other than that, I haven't eaten too much. I haven't had time. I'm going to take a whey shake and some fish oil and hit the books for the rest of the night!!
tensdanny Sun, April 2nd, 2006, 03:34 AM I had an absolutely amazing workout today. I also ate pretty good.
I had a turkey sub on rye with tons of veggies and cheddar today.
I then fryed two chicken breasts with some olive oil, 4 ounces of butter, 3 cloves of garlic, and a little bit of onion. It was a pretty tasty meal.
I then had a key-lime single serving yogurt. It was very tasty.
In addition to this, I had two rice crispy treats. They were very, very small, and then I had 2 reeses peanut butter cups.
Overall, It wasn't a perfect diet day. It wasn't a cheat day, I don't have those. I do let up on my diet for a treat one or two days a week. This was that day.
Total, I was at probably 1900-2000 calories today, so that is still below maintaince so I don't think it was too bad.
tensdanny Mon, April 3rd, 2006, 11:35 PM I dominated my workout today. It was really intense and when all was said and done my back is quite sore tonight. I am also having a pretty good day of eating. Overall, I give this day a B. I could have done better, but it was still good enough to lose fat.
tensdanny Thu, April 6th, 2006, 12:45 AM Wow, my hamstrings are super sore from my deadlifts on Monday. I wonder why that is. Normally they're tender but nothing like this. I tried really hard to focus on form, so that might have been why.
I had a really good chest workout today. I did 3 sets of 10 reps on flat bench, then 3 sets of reps until failure on incline bench, then did 3 sets of 10 reps on three different variations of flies. It was really intense and high energy the whole time.
I signed my lease for next year! Hurray!
Other than that, i've been consumed with midterms next week and am absolutely beyond exhausted. Sorry about the short updates, life is hectic, but my quest is going well. I love how much more energized I feel, but you'd be amazed how exhausting studying is!!
