I have a question for you John, just out of curiosity. I know you usually work from home, so you probably didn't see the same people everyday like you would if you worked in an "office," but at what point did people that saw you frequently start saying things like "wow John, are you losing weight?" Did you make it known up front to everyone that you were really changing your life? Just curious about people's reactions, and what they said to you last year at this time when the pounds started really coming off.
Thanks

It didn't take long because I posted my pictures on the Internet and, at least for the first few weeks, I didn't post them side by side as I do now; instead, each day I made a 2-frame animation that flipped back and forth between the first picture and the most current picture so that even the smallest changes really jumped out. Doing this really helped keep me motivated, and people were very surprised when they saw how much change is possible in just a week or two.
By March (2 months into my program), people who didn't know about my web site and only saw me with clothes on were commenting. Granted, most of them were mainly making fun of my bleached hair (another one of my early errors, heh), but a few actually noticed the weight loss, too. :p
I think the biggest shock was to my neighbors, who for many years saw me out cutting the grass in jeans and a huge un-tucked t-shirt. All the sudden last summer I was out there wearing nothing but shorts and abs. I have to admit that was a pretty cool feeling after being fat for so long!
