View Full Version : Bulk or continue cutting?

Hi, I've lost just shy of 25 pounds since January 1st, and I went from 170 to around 146. I'm around 6 feet tall and 17 years old. I don't have very much muscle, so there is still a good amount of fat left. The problem is, I don't want to weigh too little because I don't want to get too skinny. I want to eventually have a very muscular build, but in the short-term, I would like to be relatively skinny with a little bit of muscle. I'm hoping to be able to achieve that goal by the end of July. I'm wondering if that is a feasible goal.

Basically, my question is: should I just begin to bulk now to get some muscle, or should I continue to cut until I have a lower body fat percentage? I would guess my body fat to be around 13%, but since I have so little muscle mass, there is actually a little bit of fat around. I'm probably way off on that estimate, but oh well. Thanks for the help.

Bulk, definitely. For me 17% BF with a larger build (maybe 10-15 lbs more muscle than a small build) Looks better than 13% with a small build. I'd definitely bulk considering if you keep cutting then these are the hard %'s so why would you want to do that twice?

Yeah, I'd bulk also. 6ft at 146lbs is pretty light. Do a clean bulk and after the bulk with the increased muscle mass you should be able to get rid of the remaining fat easily.

Thanks for the advice, I think that I will definately bulk. I am sick of eating just a little bit here and there, anyway. I can't wait to start making some gains! :db:
