Well, I love old Nintendo videogames and I love playing piano, so It's no surprise that all of the songs I play are from NES and SNES games. I decided to record myself playing a song tonight from Super Mario Bros 3 and, well, for some reason I'm posting it here. Let me know if you like it and if you have any requests. I'll gladly learn new songs...

I wanna see Tetris, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Streets of Rage (Genesis though, sorry). :)

I have a link for you, I think you will like this:

I had another one in my favorites SOMEWHERE, of "Ultimix," this guy did some unbelievable renditions of various video games (Tetris, Castlevania, SOR, Mario, etc.). If I find it I'll post the link here. (He does have some music on that website above though - just look for "McVaffe & QuasiK.")

Looking good, dude. Might to a search for other NES musicians. I saw a video of an accapella group doing a variety of NES stuff, 3 or 4 guitarists, and another pianist, too, I think. All on the web.

I love this stuff. I played tons of NES, but almost always by myself, and I have the illusion that it was a private sort of thing. But these kinds of videos tell me I was part of something much bigger than myself. Was it worth all the time? I don't know, but the music is sure fun for me now.

I actually got into classical music because of video game tunes, Dan Dare on the ZX Spectrum used Mozart's 'Rondo A la Turka' and Commodore 64's Sanxion used a part of Prokofiev's ballet 'Romeo and Juliet'. They've remained favourites ever since.

Personally I would love to hear the Bubble Bobble song played on a piano, I guess a honky tonk type of playing would suit it really well! :tu:

I think a honky tonk Bubble Bobble tune would be...interesting at the very least. Nice choice of game/tune, too.
