View Full Version : How do you determain hydration?
GRCRYSTYK Fri, March 17th, 2006, 01:15 PM Hey all,..
Just curoius if there is a way to check yourself for "Hydration". I know it's that time of year when the air is dry,and your skin can sometimes feel tight and dried out, but lately, I have been feeling more dry that usual, and my face is more drawn in that usual,...Using the restroom more all the time, and so on,...The doc says the sample came back normal for any type of infection, but I still feel like something is out of whack,...I drink a good deal of water,a nd fluids, so it seems strange to me that I would be dehydrated. It just seems as if what I'm experiencing, is exactly what I was going through the last time I really was dehydrated,...
Thanks,....>>--->

I can relate to a number of those symptoms. Lets say your drinking a good eal of fluids, so the reduced urination wasn't aparent, and the muscle cramps were hard to figure out as you work out on a regular basis,...
At this point I can say I experience,...
Light Headedness
Muscle Cramps
Fatigue
Dry Skin
Muscle Weakness
I drink fluids all the time, so the thirst could be masked,...Pee like a madman though. Goes right through me. The color varies a bit, depending on how long before I have taken my mutivitamin.
Thoughts?

Weigh yourself before and after the workout. If you weight the same, you are very, very, slightly overhydrated, which is really what you want.
When not working out, just drink as much non-caloric liquids as you want. As long as you want a lot. Your body will get rid of any excess.

I don't understand. How could you ever weigh the same? Unless you don't sweat at all during your workout.

Maybe he means if you drink water during it? I still don't see how that makes sense though...

Well here's the thing, I drink plenty of fluids, mainly water, pee all the time, and still feel like I'm drying up,...Skin is dray as all get out. Wrinkles on my face that aren't usually there. Hands dry as a bone.
It's hard to say if I feel any different really, as I pretty much feel like crap every day,..Always have,...It's rare that I feel like I have a great deal of energy. I'm not a lazy person,..Quite the oposite actually,...I tend to have a good number of thiongs going at all times,..Too many most of the time,....but I physically feel like crap evry day. I just keep pushing through it though,..Have for 44 years. It's not a fun thing to do, but if I don't, I would be a mess in no time,...
Thanks for the help guys,...

spongimp Sat, March 18th, 2006, 11:42 PM low blood pressure is also a sign of dehydration... however, your body is excellent at regulation, so by the time you get a low bp reading, you are probably very dehydrated. you don't want to dip too far below 120 systolic/80 diastolic.
GRCRYSTYK Mon, March 20th, 2006, 03:22 PM Low Blood Preasure,...

HevyMetal Mon, March 20th, 2006, 08:38 PM How's your EFA intake??.....especially Omega3.
Also your vitamin C intake and good but not excessive protein intake?
Also plenty of RAW fruits and veggies.
Avoid anything and everything with white flour in it.
