For all the school/college kids out there....

Lean Pockets are a good meal on the go. Each one has 200 cals, 25 g Pro, 5 g Fat, 5g sugar, and 6 g fiber.

Obviously, it is better to eat 'natural foods', but buying them and keeping them cool all day at school or work or whatever can be a pain.

These dont even need to be heated, and they taste amazing, especially the pizza one. Lastly, there are a dollar each:)

Sounds good, I might have to find some of those for work days.

Thanks!

Wow! Where do you get this? Is it at the supermarket?

I definitely would like these for school, assuming they taste okay cold like you say.
It's tough for me to bring a lot of foods because I can't exactly carry around a mini-fridge all day...

Do they have trans-saturated fats? Hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils? Soy Oil? (I know they're high sodium).

If not... even better to go!

the ones i get have no bad fats. They use like a semi-fat cheese, so thats where the fat comes from. For me, the taste of a pizza-ish food is well worth it, and such fats arent to be avoided.

There are worse choices I guess... they tend to be pretty high in saturated fat if I remember correctly and off the charts in sodium (something like 1000mg or more).

Ah- here are the details (http://www.dietfacts.com/list.asp?brand=Lean_Pockets) looks like they've improved the mix since last I looked.

LOL at this review (which is how I feel about these things) :D

Lean Pockets : Turkey, Broccoli & Cheese
Wow, these are awful. I am surprised how bad they really are because they are so popular. The fatal flaw is that there is so much dough - a ratio of about 3 to 1 of dough to filling. The result is like eating the crust from the top of a frozen pot pie that's barely coated with the filling.

"Broccoli scented" is how one taster described this product. This is because there's barely four forkfuls of filling to each "pocket."

The same taster opined, "Why anyone would eat this is beyond me - it's like bad chocolate. Just the scent of chocolate and none of the flavor."

And:

It is possible to be worse than bad. Turkey, Broccoli & Cheese Lean Pockets are bad but Three Cheese Chicken & Quesadilla Lean Pockets are downright awful. If they make cardboard in Mexico this is what it might taste like. The cheese is salty and grainy and since it doesn't taste like cheese one has to trust that it actually is.

You would be better off buying frozen broccoli with cheese sauce and a hoagie roll to make your own sandwich. Healthier, tastier and less expensive.

These get no forks at all.

I was gonna ask the same thing. They probably do...most processed foods have some.

For a little while I got the lean pocket breakfast things.

They're pretty good, and are not terrible, health wise:

140 calories
4.5g fat (ok, not great)
1.5g saturated fat (eh)
310mg sodium (for frozen food, pretty good)
19g carbs (the pocket, one assumes :D)
7g protein

I wouldn't recommend them every day, but they don't seem too terrible for once in a while.

Hmmm.....the nutrition facts on the link that was posted don't sound quite as great as the ones specialbear was talking about...most of them are more like 300 cals and 10-15g protein. Oh well, guess I won't be getting these.

Oh, well then I guess I'll have to look. Do you know the brand?

Edit: I found these ones (I assumed they were all made by Hot Pockets) that fit those stats. The final three listings on this page: http://www.hotpockets.com/lean/products/products.asp?ID=368

They are specifically called Lean Pockets Ultra, the ones that have 200 cal and 24-25g protein.

I just noticed they say they have two servings per container...does that mean each one is 400 cals or do they come in boxes with 2 in each?
