I asked this elsewhere but i decided w\ help :-D that a new post was a better idea. What is the best deal and most like grams of protien per serving of whey protien.
Ok, your question should really be its own thread rather than a reply to a completely unrelated thread, but I shall endeavor to answer it anyways:
The amount of protein you get per scoop is determined by the type of protein you get. The more thoroughly filtered the type of protein (such as whey isolate versus simply whey concentrate), the more protein you will get by weight as opposed to fat or carbohydrates. Most protein powders give you at least 20g of protein in a 28-30g scoop.
Protein per serving doesn't really equate to value, though. If you're looking for the best deal then you're better off looking at the total amount of protein per contain in relation to price (e.g. how much does it cost per gram of protein). Whey isolate will certainly give you more protein per serving, but it will also be more expensive. It may or may not be worth the extra cost to you depending on your goals, amount of time training so far, supplement budget, etc.
Honestly, dollar for dollar I think one of the best values out there is Nitrean from At Large Nutrition. It's more expensive than some of the cheaper pure whey products out there, but since it's a high quality blend of different types of whey along with egg protein, calcium caseinate, and glutamine peptides it results in a more continuous stream of amino acids into your system and better net protein retention. It's very popular here and I've personally had great results from it. If I could only use one protein supplement (currently I employ several) it would be a good quality protein blend like Nitrean.
