I will be doing a run/bike race again this year in July and I was wondering if anyone one has ever particpated in one of these events and can offer any training tips?

The is a team event. My partner will bike the first mile while I run it, she will dump the bike go through the obstacle and start the run while I catch up. I will complete the obstacle and start to bike. We will repeat this for 6 - 7 miles. The course is done in a park so we will be in a wooded area with plenty of hills and other obstacles to navigate.

This race is done all over the US and if you are interested then you can go to www.muddybuddy.com

Thanks!

Do you have a school near by with a stadium? Maybe running some stairs would help.

Run and bike, a lot.

I think you could probably approach it like a triathlon or duathlon. There are tons of trainging regimens on the internet for these. Primarily it involves putting in the miles on both events in a steadily increasing amount then a two week taper to the event.

Stairs are awesome!!! What a workout. Just don't plan on doing squats soon after! :nono: I made that mistake when I was training for football season back in the day and keeled right over!

anyway, good luck... sounds like a fun event!
