My wife buys these in big bulk paks from Costco and Im wondering if its processed or actually good to eat:

Hillshire farm deli select club sandwich variety pak

Turkey breast: Turkey breast, water, food starch, 2% or less of the following: turkey flavor, salt, dextrose, sodium lactate, sodium phosphate, sodium nitrate.

Nutritional value: 5 slices: 60 cals(10 from fat, 1.5g fat, 0 sat. fat, 0 trans fat., 25mg cholesterol, 600 mg sodium, 2 g carbs, 2 g sugars, 9 g protein
Any thoughts on this stuff. Thumbs up or down??!! Thanks

A lot will depend on your total nutrition goals. If you are concerned with macros, then it is probably OK. If you healthy choices are your goal, then it is not the best choice to make. The sodium content is very high, which can cause a lot of people to retain water and there are a lot of additives that really aren't that great.

I would prefer whole chicken breast or I cook whole turkey breasts a lot and slice them for sandwhiches.

From what I’ve read I think that lunchmeat is not too good to eat, but the convenience of using it in a sandwich is just too great to resist. I try not to eat more than 100g per day, however I only keep track of my macro nutrient intake.
