A week ago I saw that Kent was backlogged & no longer taking orders. Fine, I thought. I'll just wait until they get caught up - business must be booming over there.

Then today I find out that Kent Nutrition is no more. :( Very sad because David at Kent would always get my stuff out to me very quickly, and I never questioned the quality of his products. I'll surely be able to find new sources for my Dextrose, ALCAR, GT-Turbo, and the other assortment of goodies I used to get from Kent. I just doubt I'll get the same personal attention.

Good luck to David in the future.

I'm wondering this as well, they've been my supplier of dextrose for a couple of years now. I hope the order of ALCAR I placed on 3/2 gets to me - I'm sure it will if they say it will.

After that, I guess it's back to buying ALCAR at the local health food store... a little bit more expensive but at least there's no shipping then.

I hope someone finds an equitable replacement!

- Matt.

Our sponser above, Mass Nutrition has excellent prices, or if you wanted to buy bulk powders or caps, Bulk Nutrition (http://www.bulknutrition.com/?manufacturers_id=18&osCsid=331776a4f9e90d8293ec55b8dcd35479) gets all of my business on that end.

Bodybuilding.com sells NOW brand dextrose, which I've been using for years.

Does anyone know of any kind of replacement for GT-Turbo? I can't use fat burners because of high blood pressure running in my family and I really liked the boost of energy the GT-Turbo gave me for my morning workout.

Perhaps look into THIS (http://www.bulknutrition.com/?products_id=1612). I think highly of Bulk Nutrition.

Yeah, Bulk Nutrition is awesome. They have bulk ALCAR for much cheaper than any capsule prices (even Kent's), and very good prices on everything else. If you're getting a name-brand supplement that Mass Nutrition sells then MN will probably have it a little cheaper, but for the brands they don't sell or for anything bulk BN is the way to go.

As for GT-Turbo, I was wondering about that myself. I think Hort is on the right track. Lean Green is a great pure Green Tea supplement. I've been thinking about just buying the ingredients to GT-Turbo separately (Green tea extract, rhodilia rosea, etc.).

I buy NOW Dextrose and Maltodextrin from BN, as well --- quite affordable.

I wonder if Kentnutrition will actually honor all of the backorders they received before shutting down. They refuse to answer any of my emails.

BulkNutrition has good prices but they seem to be out of stock on alot of stuff.

Ok, your question should really be its own thread rather than a reply to a completely unrelated thread, but I shall endeavor to answer it anyways:

The amount of protein you get per scoop is determined by the type of protein you get. The more thoroughly filtered the type of protein (such as whey isolate versus simply whey concentrate), the more protein you will get by weight as opposed to fat or carbohydrates. Most protein powders give you at least 20g of protein in a 28-30g scoop.

Protein per serving doesn't really equate to value, though. If you're looking for the best deal then you're better off looking at the total amount of protein per contain in relation to price (e.g. how much does it cost per gram of protein). Whey isolate will certainly give you more protein per serving, but it will also be more expensive. It may or may not be worth the extra cost to you depending on your goals, amount of time training so far, supplement budget, etc.

Honestly, dollar for dollar I think one of the best values out there is Nitrean from At Large Nutrition. It's more expensive than some of the cheaper pure whey products out there, but since it's a high quality blend of different types of whey along with egg protein, calcium caseinate, and glutamine peptides it results in a more continuous stream of amino acids into your system and better net protein retention. It's very popular here and I've personally had great results from it. If I could only use one protein supplement (currently I employ several) it would be a good quality protein blend like Nitrean.
