In the past several weeks, I have started getting large dark bruises in places that I don't believe I have hurt badly enough to justify the bruise. I made several changes to my diet and vitamins in this time, and I was wondering if any of these things would contribute. The supplements I am currently taking are:

Creatine
Glutamine
Glucosamine
CLA
Centrum multivitamin
Flaxseed oil

I'm currently cutting, and eating about 1,800 calories a day. My diet isn't too weird...Soy milk, Fiber one cereal, Apples, bananas, broccoli, squash, Tilapia, Chicken breast, steak, zucchini, oatmeal, peanut butter, Whey protein powder, and a couple other odds and ends.

The only other new thing I have been doing lately is taking an epsom salt bath once or twice a week.

Can any of these supplements etc. contribute to increased bruising? I did a couple of google searches, but didn't really find anything.

Do you use painkillers frequently (more than three times per week)? If so, that can lead to increased bruising. Anything else that thins blood can increase bruising as well. I do not know if any of the supplements you listed cause blood to thin, but it's something to look into.

Hmm...I use aspirin, but no moreso than I ever did...maybe once a week. And I actually drink less alcohol than I used to (which also thins the blood). There was a time I was drinking 3 or 4 nights a week, and taking aspirin all the next day, and I never had a problem with bruising.

Things change as we age. I didn't have a problem with it as a teen/early 20's, but now, if I take too many blood thinners close together, I bruise easily. This is the main reason I only do the EC portion of ECA stacks. I'm not convinced, first of all, that the aspirin does a damn thing (other than load the liver unnecessarily) and second, too much aspirin and I get bruises on the skin easily. Just one of those things... one never knows.
