Just started keeping track of my calories, protein intake and all that good stuff just to get a rough number before I start my first bulk. I weigh 150, and am 5'11, also im 20 years old and have an insane metabolism. Right now im getting about 2000 cals a day, and around 100 protein intake. Do I need to up both of these numbers a signifigant amount, or are they in the ballpark of where they should be?

150 @ 5'11"??
2000 cals and 100gr of protein??
Insane metabolism??

You will be 140 lbs in a matter of a few weeks with that plan.
Up your calories to the 3000-3200 range (even this may not be enough, but start out on the low end) triple your protein intake, and get plenty of healthy fats, i.e.flax, olive oil, nuts, fish oil, natty PB.

Yeah I figured I would need to up my cals to around 3000. But do I really need to have around 300 protein intake per day? I could prob get around 200 with 2 protein shakes per day instead of 1. But 300 is pretty steep. Thanks for your help btw

i'm also 5'11" and when i was 155 lbs i used Prolab's N-Large2 which really helped boost my calorie intake. i am an ectomorph so i burned calories like crazy. just watch the saturated fats, but it is much easier to drink calories than eating them. don't rely on them though... wholesome foods are always better. just throwing in my two cents on what worked for me

Try 150 gms of protein and 2600 calories. Up calories by 150 calories a week until your waist increases by 1.50" relaxed. then drop it by 150. Sure hope you have effective weight training program planned. You build muscle using heavy weights in the 8-12 rep range.:bb:

I must be wasting my time with the 4-6 range then!
