Hi all,

I'm having a blood test this week .... what are some good tests I should ask my doctor to add?

I.e. my LDL and HDL (these wont show unless specifically tested for). So what other indicators/tests etc. are good to know - ?

HIV and full STD screening couldn't hurt since they're taking the blood anyway.

I don't understand. They don't do a complete test?

As far as I understand .. a blood test only delivers what results are asked for. In other words, the doctor has to put the correct tests down in order to find out what is needed e.g. full blood count, esr, c-reactive protein, etc.....

I've often heard people say "oh it didnt show on the first blood test, but on the second the next week it did" and wondered why this is ... must be due to the tests which are put down.
