Hi all,

I heard a rumour that carrots are counter productive to eat while cutting?

Is this true. I dont eat a massive amount of carrots but I do like to snack on them...

Kind Regards,

They tend to have more sugar than a lot of other vegetables; there are much better choices. I doubt snacking on a few baby carrots every so often will make too much of an impact though. I assume you're not talking about 3-4 cups a day though; that may have a negative effect. :)

It's hard to say. On one hand I think there are much better choices, so if you're using carrots as your only veggie then I think this is a bad thing. On the other hand I think variety is good and having several different kinds of veggies in your diet may be a good thing.

They are not. Excess calories are counter productive for cutting. There are people out there cutting on pizza and doughnuts.

Carrots have a lot of health benefits and very low caloric value. I donīt care about their glycemic index because their glycemic load is very low. They are a God sent food. Donīt be afraid of them, just make them fit into your plan and you should be OK and healthy.

Carrots shouldn't be a problem IMO. It does contain sugars but there's only about 55cal per cup and a good bit of fiber.

Try and think logically what about them could or couldn't possibly make them bad on a cut. That will get you a lot farther than us telling you why or why not the rumor is valid, invalid, or might have a shread of validity.

In the stir fry veggies I eat there are carrots, they add flavor but I agree with what everyone said.
